- Description
- The National Institutes of Health intends to award a Firm-Fixed-Price purchase order to MicroBrightField Bioscience LLC, 185 Allen Brook Lane, Williston, VT� 05495. In accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, the Contractor is the only known responsible source who can provide the specific equipment as no other source has been identified who can provide the requirement listed below. The National Institutes of Health, National Eye Institute (NEI) has a requirement to upgrade a MicroBrightField Image Acquisition and Analysis System (MIAAS).� The MIAAS is a specialized microscope with image analysis software for the use of brightfield and fluorescence 3D imaging, object segmentation, and registration of brain anatomical atlases.� The upgrade of the microscope allows NEI to maintain current capabilities, customizations and expand its capabilities to expedite image acquisition and intergrade image post-processing, object segmentation, and registration to an atlas into a single pipeline.� This acquisition will accomplish the following:� (1) update microscope stage from single-slide to multi-slides stage to allow multisided imaging of mouse and monkey sections; (2) upgrade the light source to improve detection of the red and infrared increasing and increase the number of fluorophores that can be imaged; (3) provide new brightfield and monochrome cameras for higher signal-to-noise and larger imaging area that will increase imaging speed of sections that require multiple tiles; (4) �acquire new software able to handle the system upgrades and support previous capabilities of the microscope including ApoTome 2 structural illumination system; and (5) acquire new image analysis software for image processing, object segmentation, and registration of brain atlases. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes.� However, any party that believes it can provide the preventive maintenance as stated herein may submit a written capability statement that clearly supports and demonstrates their ability to satisfy the requirement. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed award based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that an award will be issued within five (5) days after the date of this notice unless the Government determines that another organization has the capability to meet this requirement. � Please email responses to zetherine.gore@nih.gov no later than 12:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, May 18, 2022.
