Description
Amemdment 2 Questions and Answers. 1. Some general questions we would need to know in order to determine the best ultrasonicator for their lab. Response: This solicitation is NOT for an ultrsonicator. An Ultrasonicator does not appear to meet the requirements specified in the solicitation. 2. Whats the application (NGS, Proteomics, Epigentics) ? Response: The application would be strictly for the analysis of chloramphenicol and nitrofuran metabolites in aquaculture products. 3. How many samples are they processing on a weekly basis? Response: On average, we process ~150 subsamples per week. 4. What is their desired sample processing volume? Response: The method has to be able to transfer 15 mL of the extract onto solid-phase cartridges. Although we did not specify if that means a single transfer of 15 mL or if that means 15 transfers of 1 mL. Either is technically acceptable; however, each additionaltransfer adds both increased probability for error in the transfer and it adds additional time. 5. Are they looking to integrate with a liquid handler? Response: The whole solicitation is for a system that can transfer liquids. The fundamental element of the equipment is it has to transfer liquid (15 mL) from a vessel onto a solid phase extraction cartridge, and then later elute the desired materials from that cartridge while unwanted materials are retained on the cartridge. 6. Budget? Response: We dont provide the budget. Other: For reference attached is the published method that this system is specifically being purchased for. Please note that the mention of trade names, commercial products, or organizations is for clarification purposes and should not be interpreted as an endorsement of a product or manufacturer. The section below of the method might provide additional insight. Utilizing the ASPEC system, the HLB (3 cc _60 mg), solid-phase extraction cartridges were conditioned with 3mL of ethyl acetate, 3mL of methanol, and 3mL of water. TheASPEC system loaded the samples onto the conditioned SPE cartridges and washed the cartridges with 2mL of water and 2mL of 30% methanol in water. Subsequently, the ASPEC system dried the SPE cartridges and eluted them with 3mL of ethyl acetate. The quote due date is extended until May 24, 2022 at 1PM Central Time. No other questions will be answered. Amendment 1: This amendment provides answers to questions received. 1. What is the sample material? (i.e. Hydraulic cement) Response: The sample material is aquaculture tissue (i.e. shrimp, frog, fish, etc.) 2. What is the starting particle size of the material? (i.e. 3mm) Response: The tissue is ground with dry ice but is paste like once thawed. 3. What is the targeted final fineness? (i.e. 45um) Response: The tissue size doesnt change. The equipment in the solicitation should have the ability to transfer liquid from a vessel onto a solid-phase extraction cartridge described in the SOW. 4. What is the amount of sample to be processed in one sample batch? (i.e. 100mL) Response: The SOW stated it had to be able to do 20 samples or more. Each sample has 15mL that has to be transferred to the solid-phase extraction cartridge. 5. Are there any elements that will interfere with post-grind analysis? (i.e. Fe, Cr, etc.) Response: This is an organic testing analysis. No metal elements are evaluated. See attached combined synopsis/solicitation.
