- Question and Answers For UPS Power Modules Will there be a walk through for this solicitation? Yes, May 25, 2022 @ 9:00 AM Will access to the V.A site be available? Yes, May 25, 2022 @ 9:00 AM Does the V.A in Big Spring have a loading dock? If yes, can (2) Eaton UPS being shipped to the V.A? If yes, can the V.A temporary accept them? Yes, the VA has a loading dock. If the Modules are shipped to the facility the VA will not be responsible for any damage during shipping. Can the V.A provide the current UPS Serial Number and Model Number (If Pictures if Available) The UPS model number and part number for the modules are in the scope of work. No serial number is needed. Does the V.A have a hydraulic pallet Jack to use? Each UPS weighs 1200 lbs. We are not purchasing a UPS. We are purchasing power modules that go in an Eaton UPS cabinet that is already installed. They weigh about 50 lbs. Are we replacing existing (2) UPS? If yes, can we get pictures of the existing UPS? We are not replacing any UPS s. We want two power modules purchased and installed in an existing UPS cabinet. The part numbers for the modules are in the scope of work. If we are not replacing UPS, is there existing power near the area that we are installing the UPS? Can you please provide pictures or schematics? We need two power modules that are outlined in the SOW to be installed in an existing UPS cabinet. Is the V.A interested in maintenance/service plan, i.e. 1 plus 4 yr. package once we installed the UPS? NO Does the VA want External Battery Modules, Network Cards to connect to Ethernet/Internet and Remote Monitoring Capability included in the quote? NO, that is not in the scope of work. Can the V.A please review that PDF file that Eaton 20KW power modules in making sure that UPS is properly prepared? What was sent is for a UPS. The bad power modules have been pulled out and the new modules will be slid into the same slots these came out of and connected. Installation of all firmware and software updates are needed. Advise if the following will be adhered to? These questions are for the installation of a UPS and do not pertain to this project. That is not what the VA is asking for. The VA only needs two power modules installed in an existing UPS. The site for the UPS system to operate at peak efficiency, the installation site should meet the environmental specs such as the operating environment must meet the weight, clearance, and environmental requirements specified. 3.2.1 Environmental and Installation Considerations General storage requirements for UPS Equipment: Equipment which cannot be immediately installed and energized should be stored in an indoor, dry, clean, ventilated area, heated environment (i.e. an temperature and humidity controlled environment). The storage area must be protected from rain, water, chemical agents, and gases as shown in Table 1. Do not store in areas where conditions such as dampness, changes in temperature, dust, dirt, rubble, paint, conductive particulates, or corrosive atmosphere / gases are present. . Factory installed packaging and wrapping of the equipment should not be removed until equipment is ready to install. Equipment should be checked periodically for any signs of deterioration. It is the responsibility of the receiving contractor to ensure protection during storage. Equipment should be placed on true and solid level surfaces for storage. Have a plan for condensation and environmental mitigation prior to equipment arrival. The UPS system installation must meet the following guidelines: The system must be installed on a level floor suitable for computer or electronic equipment. The system must be operated at an altitude no higher than 1500m (5000 ft) without derating.
