Description
FY22 STRI REMOVE HAZARDOUS TREES OFFSITE AND TRAIL Amendment 0002: 02.25.22 Adding an attachment Spreadsheet of trees Questions and Answers after the preproposal teleconference and site visit: 5/24/2022 Stone River Hazard tree contract Questions Q: If we make a divet that is large enough that we need to fill it in can we use soil or mulch from like Home Depot to fill it in and re-seed. A: If you need to fill something in especially in the cemetery, I will allow you to use some of the soil I have removed and piled up in my bone yard that is from the cemetery. Otherwise it must be certified Artifact free soil if it is brought in from outside source. Q: In the scope of work Section E Tasks Number D it says that the chips are to be piled at appointed place for the park to use. A: That whole Task D should be removed from the Scope of work as the contractor shall be responsible for hauling off site all chips and larger wood. Q: The scope of work states trimming to height of 60 what if there are hazardous limbs about that height? A: You can trim the hazards out above the 60 height as long as it is at no extra charge to the government. Q: Are we allowed to climb trees with spikes to trim them? A: No the park recognizes the (ISA) International Society Arborculture and they do not recommend using climbing spikes to trim trees because it can cause cross contamination from one tree to another. It also opens the tree for an infestation from the spikes wounds. Q: There is a Oak Tree marked to be trimmed along the Visitor Center parking but it is not on the list of trees so do we trim it? A: No; not at this time, if we have extra money the I will be adding it to be removed Q: Are we to de-vine the trees that we are trimming? A: It is not required how ever if you wish to cut the vine and remove it as part of your trimming service at no additional cost to the government, you can do so. Q: Does the COR know where the closest dump is that will accept the trees? A: No, contractor will need to locate one.
