- SPECIAL NOTICE FA558722Q0039 48th CONTRACTING SQUADRON Issue Date:���������������������������� 1 June 2022 Response Due Date:������������� 9 June 2022 NAICS Code: ���������������������� 339112 � Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing Subject: �������������������������������� Special Notice � Award a Sole Source GENERAL INFORMATION NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: The 48th Contracting Squadron, United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE), Royal Air Force (RAF) Lakenheath intends to award a sole source, base year contract with four additional one (1) year options to Biomerieux UK Limited. This contract will allow for Preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, technical support, and services for the Biomerieux VITEK 2 analyzer. Personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and other items are necessary to perform annual maintenance and service/repair required. Biomerieux UK Limited is the only existing contractor able to provide maintenance to the VITEK 2 analyzer as the analyzer is proprietary. The justification for restricting competition will be in accordance with the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) (1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 �Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.� Since Biomerieux UK Limited is the only contractor able to fulfill the Governments requirements, it is the only entity with whom a contract can be executed. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations and no solicitation will be issued from this notice; Interested contractors may identify their capability to provide the services prescribed within this notice and the attached Description of Services on or before the response due date, and should provide sufficient data for the Government to determine them as a comparable alternative to the intended source. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
