Description
SOLAR SAIL TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT GROUP (TAG) MEETING Background/Purpose:��NASA has released the Strategic Technology Framework ""GO Thrust"" Envisioned Future State with strategic technology priorities for In-Space Transportation. (NSPIRES - Solicitations Summary (nasaprs.com)) Under Advanced Propulsion, next generation solar sails are required to meet the needs of future NASA and U.S. Stakeholder mission objectives. NASA is intending to perform a 2-day deep-dive on Solar Sail technology development paths to meet those future mission needs. In addition to the external input requested from the 'GO' Request for Information (RFI), NASA will host a focused TAG meeting to discuss the future mission needs, identify notional technology development approaches to meet the future Key Performance parameters and outline a strategic investment approach for next generation solar sail capabilities. Findings and outcomes are anticipated to be released publicly afterwards. Who is Eligible to Participate:� The Solar Sail TAG Meeting is open to any U.S. citizen in government, industry or academia with contributions to future Solar Sail mission requirements and potential technolgy solutions. Meeting Location: Huntsville, AL NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (Pending # of participants) Participants must RSVP no later than June 17, 2022 by 5:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time. RSVP must include:� Participant Name (First, Middle Initial, Last with Suffix, if appropriate) Institution Declaration of U.S. Citizenship Solar sail focus area (e.g., materials, attitude control, booms, etc.) � After RSVP is received, you will receive additional meeting logistics information. Key Dates: RSVP Date: June 17, 2022 TAG Meeting: July 7 and 8, 2022 NASA will NOT be providing resources for travel or associated costs with participation in the TAG This is NOT�a commitment for solar sail technology development solicitation. The RFI and future opportunities will exist for remote participation. However, this TAG meeting will be in-person, and virtual participation is NOT an option.
