Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to NanoScience Instruments, Inc. for the purchase of the Phenom XL G2 Desktop Scanning Electron Microscope (with optional SED detector and EDS Upgrade), Training, LUXOR Gold Sputter Coater with Vaccum Pump, and associated EDS Mapping application software for EDS. The Phenom XL G2 offers a combination of features unavailable in other products. �It combines high magnification (200,000x max) along with 3 vacuum modes for charge-buildup control. �The high accelerating voltage and optional EDS detection permits elemental mapping of a wide range of chemical elements. �It also features a CeB6 electron source, which is more efficient (brighter) and lower maintenance than other filament sources offered in most other products. This action�s associated NAICS code is 334516 titled, �Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing�. This contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.� This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all capability statements/proposals/quotations received from responsible sources within seven (7) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. �A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. �Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. �Any quotation/response should be emailed to contracting officer, Candice L. Simmons at iie3@cdc.gov by 5:00 pm EDT on March 8, 2022.
