Description
This notice is a sources sought to identify potential vendors interested in providing touch labor support for the fabric worker trade. Please see below fabric worker requirements that identifies the minimum requirements that each fabric worker is required to meet or exceed. A more detailed SOW will be issued with the official solicitation.� The anticipated start date of this requirement is August 1, 2022. The location of this work will be performed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard located in Kittery, ME.� Fabric Worker Typical Trade Tasks a. Assist journeyman level fabric workers by handling materials and tools common to the trade. b. Clean work areas, run errands and hold materials in position as directed by the mechanic. c. Assist journeyman level fabric workers in aligning materials to be sewn, cut, etc. d. Use grommet machines, dielectric heat-sealers, and electric cutting knives to fabricate and repair a variety of containments. Trade Skill Requirements a. Each Contractor Fabric Worker shall have at least three (2) years of experience within the trade performing the identified Typical Trade tasks. b. Each Contractor Fabric Worker must have working knowledge of trade equipment including mallets, hammers, pliers, tape measures, squares, and grommet sets. c. Each Contractor Fabric Worker must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and job orders. d. Each Contractor Fabric Worker must have sufficient trade math knowledge to be able to set up and lay out work. e. Each Contractor Fabric Worker must be able to tie trade knots and make rough sketches. f. Each Contractor Fabric Worker shall be qualified to to wear safety harnesses and work from scaffolds/platforms where drop off will be greater than 5 feet IAW 29 CFR 1915 (Subpart I) � Trade Specific Technical Standards 29 CFR 1926-Subpart L 29 CFR 1915 Required Trade Skill Training Identifying, Selecting and Wearing Fall Protection
