The purpose of the amendment is to make the following changes to the Solicitation: Addendum No. 1 is added to specify work hours to be performed during �off hours.� The Due Date for Receipt of Proposals remains June 16, 2022, at 3:00 PM EST. This Solicitation is set-aside to Small Businesses in accordance with FAR 19. The Smithsonian Institution is seeking offers to Upgrade Fire Alarm and Mass Notification System at the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), located at 10th Street & Constitution Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20560, as described herein and the Contract Documents, including, without limitation, in the Specifications and Drawings for SF Project No. 1700103 both dated November 19, 2021. All of the requirements which the successful Offeror must meet concerning this project are set forth in detail in the solicitation Documents included with this Request for Proposal. Upon the receipt of Technical and Cost Proposals and the selection of a successful Offeror, the Smithsonian Institution will execute a Fixed Price construction contract. The Smithsonian currently estimates that the fixed price for the entire project (Base Contract plus Option) will be between $14M and $15M. The Work includes, but is not limited to, the creation of a combination building-wide fire alarm and mass notification system. Replace existing obsolete Siemens MXL fire alarm panels with new Siemens Desigo Modular panels building wide. Replacement of some smoke detection and fire alarm devices building wide to coordinate with new Desigo Modular panels. Provide new speakers in some public spaces and exhibits to enhance the intelligibility of the combination fire alarm and mass notification system. Replace Rotunda way finding signage as well as signage in the Rotunda Ambulatory spaces, some with integrated speakers for the mass notification system. Replacement of all fire phones building wide with the exception of those located in the West Court portion of the building. Critical Elements of the Work: The successful Contractor shall be fully qualified to install critical elements of the Work. � Replacement of obsolete MXL fire alarm panels � Installation of new network ring � Maintain fire alarm and smoke detection capability throughout construction � Provide pre-testing and final acceptance testing for each phase. Additionally, include final overall system testing at the conclusion of the entire project. Long-Lead Items: Long-lead items include but are not limited to the items listed below. It is the contractor�s responsibility to identify all long-lead items and incorporate all required associated work within the contract time for completion. 1. Long-Lead Items: � � a. Contractor to identify any long-lead items not anticipated by the AE Team. Total period of performance for both Base and Option 1, if exercised, is 852 calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to immediately notify the Smithsonian Institution, if the target dates and proposed packages of work described herein adversely affect the Contractor�s Critical Path Schedule (also refer to throughout this RFP as the Progress Schedule) for the final completion date of this project. Contractors may propose an alternate schedule which illustrates the completion of the project in advance of the completion date, for review by Smithsonian in accordance with the terms of the contract. This Request for Proposal (RFP) is intended to provide all Offerors with sufficient information to enable them to prepare and submit offers for technical and cost review and consideration by the Smithsonian Institution. This solicitation neither commits the Smithsonian Institution to pay any proposal preparation costs nor obligates the Smithsonian to procure or contract for construction or any other services. It shall not be construed as authorization to proceed with or be reimbursed for any of the costs for any of the work specified herein.
