Description
This action is to establish a contract for the acquisition of the follow T-38C Ejection Seat Components: Linear Electro-Mechanical Actuator (NSN 1680-99-213-1688MH / Part Number MBEU205146) quantity of 5 ea.; Lock Shoulder Harness Reel (NSN 1680-99-958-2695MH / Part Number MBEU200425-1) quantity of 300 ea.; Pull Handle Catapult (NSN 1680-99-695-3410MH / Part Number MBEU201010) quantity of 300 ea.; estimated delivery is on or before 23 May 20223; Ship to SW3119; FOB Origin. Estimated award is on or before August 2022. Firing of the ejection seat is initiated by pulling one of the ejection Catapult Seat Pull Handles, also known as the Automatic Deployment Unit Housing (ADU) mounted on the seat bucket sides. The side pull handles are mechanically linked so that raising one will lift the other as well. Raising the handles actuates a pair of initiators via mechanical linkages. The Inertia Lock Shoulder Harness is located in the center of the seat back just below the headrest. The inertia reel fulfills two functions: (1) it acts like the shoulder belt in a car, restraining the pilot against a 2gx forward (-x) motion. (2) Upon ejection, it retracts the pilot to an upright posture to minimize the possibility of spinal damage due to spinal misalignment upon catapult ignition. The Linear Electro-Mechanical Actuators allows the aircrew to adjust the seat height to the correct position before flight. One adjusts the front of the seat, the other adjusts the rear. The Government does not own the technical data package for these items. This requirement will be solicited sole source to the manufacturer, Martin Baker Aircraft Company LTD. (CAGE U1604) pursuant to 10 USC 2304(c)(1); FAR 6.302-1.All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation which shall be considered by the agency.
