- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to the National Research Council is the principal research unit of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. The National Research Council includes the Committee on Earth Resources (CER). The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (the Academies) includes several standing committees of interest to NIOSH and the mining and energy communities. One of these committees is the Committee on Earth Resources (CER) which serves to engage and inform members of the mining and energy communities, policy makers, and the public on a wide range of topics related to the availability, supply, delivery, and impacts of energy and mineral resources; the health and safety of the workforce engaged in resource exploration, production, and stewardship; and the management and stewardship of the lands on which they are located. New project ideas on worker health and safety including possible response and management of mining and energy activities related to the COVID-19. New roundtable on subsurface data. The Committee is composed of senior-level experts from industry, academia and public institutions and provide a unique blend of talent for addressing concerns that are of importance to NIOSH. The Committee is the only organization with this unique blend of talent and a focused mission for addressing important issues related to mineral and energy resources. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested parties may identify their interest and submit documentation of their capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within ten (10) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government.� A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� Any response should be emailed to the appropriate point of contact at �EEH3@cdc.gov by 11:00 AM on 13 June 2022.
