- Scope of Work. The contractor shall provide Catholic specific religious, spiritual, moral, and ethical counsel, training, and ritual individually or in group settings while ministering to Veterans and their families. Tasks and Deliverables. Contractor shall be a Roman Catholic Priest who will provide Daily Mass or Weekend Mass or other Catholic Worship for Catholic Veteran s and their families on a fill-in basis. Contractor shall provide call-back Catholic Priest Services for Catholic Veterans needing Catholic specific religious ritual, sacrament, or training after normal duty hours or when the VA Catholic Chaplain is not available. Receives notification from the Chaplain Service Chief, Chaplain On-Call, Orlando VAMC switchboard, or Nursing Unit and responds appropriately when assigned. The contractor shall arrive at the hospital room within one hour unless another time is arranged with and acceptable to the requestor. The contractor shall notify the Chief, Chaplain Service, after a call-back, of the date, start and stop performance times and brief reason for the visit. Notification may be via telephone call, secure email message, by a handwritten note delivered in person or to a designated secure VA Chaplain Service location. Contractor shall inquire and confirm the requesting patient or family member is Catholic before providing services. If not Catholic, the Contractor shall refer the patient of family member to an appropriate VA Chaplain or the Chief of the Chaplain Service to ensure care is provided in accordance with the requestor s faith. Contractor shall provide documentation, of the Chaplain services provided, to the VA Catholic Chaplain or Service Chief to be entered into the patient record. Contractor shall contact the On-Call Chaplain or Service Chief in the event that they are unavailable during a time they are alerted that they may be called for Catholic patient needs or to provide Catholic Worship opportunities.
