- Sources Sought Safety Door Refurbishment at Hoover Dam THIS SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR ACQUISITION PLANNING AND MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES SPECIFICALLY SEEKING ALL QUALIFIED BUSINESSES (SMALL AND OTHER THAN SMALL BUSINESSES). No formal solicitation exists at this time. All qualified businesses may submit capability statements for consideration. Capability statements received will be reviewed to determine the technical, administrative, management, and financial capability of such offerors to perform this type of work. The capability statements will be used to determine appropriate procurement strategy, in particular whether a set-aside is warranted, or an alternate procurement strategy is warranted. Thirty-seven safety doors are installed at various locations throughout Hoover Dam to mitigate powerhouse flooding in the event of penstock failure. The doors, and their appurtenances, are original to the plant. Thirty of the thirty-seven safety doors require refurbishment. There are four types of doors to be refurbished. Their quantities, locations and operating methods are listed in the table below. The principal components of work include: 1. Inspection of doors, frames, operating mechanisms, and wear parts. 2. Refurbishment or replacement of the operating mechanisms to open and close the doors as the original equipment manufacturer intended. 3. Refurbishment of the door frames. 4. Preparation and recoating of all areas with missing coating or corrosion which include doors, frames, and appurtenant components. The anticipated period of performance for this work is a one-year base period. The Government is open to consider additional time for the period of performance based on recommendations in the submitted capability statements. Responsible sources are welcome to submit a capability statement on or before 12:00 PM Pacific Time on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. Submittals will be reviewed and considered by Reclamation during the solicitation planning process. Your package should include the following information: 1. Capability statement - showing recent experience doing this type of work or work similar in scope and Complexity and any recommendations for time needed to complete the work. 2. Provide your business name, address, point of contact, phone number and email address. 3. Provide your business size & type: SB, HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, etc. All firms should identify whether or not they are a small business or other than small business in accordance with the size standard for The North American Industry Classification (NAIC) being considered for this project, which is 238290 � Other Building Equipment Contractors and the Small Business Size Standard is $19.5 Million. 4. The capability statement shall address the offerors capability to perform under a contract of this magnitude and complexity. Provide a list of ALL RELEVANT projects (projects of a similar size, scope, and complexity of the proposed project are considered relevant), either Government or commercial, performed within the last five (5) years, with a brief description of the project; contract number, project title, dollar amount, timeliness of performance, and customer satisfaction. Include the customer's name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and points of contact with phone numbers. Indicate whether or not you were the prime contractor, and, if you were a subcontractor, provide the name and point of contact information for the prime contractor. Include the percentage of self-performed work, how the work was accomplished, and the performance rating for the work. The information presented in this announcement does not obligate Reclamation in any manner. Any information provided by industry to the Government as a result of this sources sought synopsis is voluntary. The Government will not pay for any information submitted in response to this sources sought. This notice is designed to locate responsible sources that have an interest and have the ability to perform the services described herein.
