Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate and award a sole source contract to NEIE MEDICAL WASTE SERVICES, LLC, 9 W Market St., Blairsville, PA 15717 under the authority of FAR 6.302-2 Unusual and compelling urgency. The period of performance is for a 12-month period. Service to be provided apply to NAICS code 562112, Hazardous Waste Collection. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may submit a written response via email to Scott Morrison at the email address below by 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time on June 13, 2022. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement. Information received will be considered; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the VA will proceed with the sole source award to NEIE MEDICAL WASTE SERVICES, LLC. The anticipated award date of this requirement is 14 June, 2022. No collect calls will be accepted. If you have any questions regarding this announcement, please contact: Scott Morrison Contract Specialist NCO 23, Sioux Falls, SD Email: scott.morrison2@va.gov Location of service: Omaha Division 4101 Woolworth Avenue Omaha, Nebraska 68105 Description of service: Regulated Medical Waste Disposal The Contractor is required to provide all necessary labor, tools, equipment and materials to pick up, transport and dispose of Regulated Medical Waste for the Department of Veteran Affairs, Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System. All infectious waste, except sharps, shall be bagged by the government in VA provided red disposable plastic bags which are impervious to moisture. Infectious waste of the sharps category, which originates from the diagnosis, care and treatment of patients that have been or may have been exposed to a contagious or infectious disease, or immunization or in the production or testing of biological, shall be disposed of by the medical center in hard plastic containers designed for that purpose. The Contractor shall provide clean, disinfected, rigid plastic containers to the Government at each pickup of stored regulated waste. The Contractor will provide an adequate number of barrels/containers, with an approximate capacity of 44 gallons, each week to the respective central storage areas. The Contractor is fully responsible for pickup and transport of infectious waste and Chemotherapy waste. The Contractor is fully responsible for destruction and disposal of the infectious waste and Chemotherapy waste generated by the Department of Veteran Affairs Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System
