Description: The Public Affairs Office of the USAMMDA has a requirement for data recovery from an external hard drive, a Seagate 2TB External Drive USB 2.0.� After extensive testing, it would appear the provided drive is dead, we cannot access any data. Multiple computers are unable to recognize the external hard drive and multiple outlets and cables were tested (both data and power). The device does not show up in Device Manager in Windows, even as an unknown device when connected. We also tried to plug it directly into a Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) to Universal Serial Bus Type A (USB-A) adapter and it was completely silent mechanically. Nothing was spinning inside.
