BACKGROUND The Interventional Radiology (IR) Lab in the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences requires the procurement of BK3000� Aloka Diagnostic Ultrasound System. Interventional Radiology is responsible for all the image-guided procedures in the Radiology and Imaging Sciences within the Clinical Center. Interventional Radiology services are crucial to care and treatment of patients throughout the Clinical Center and NIH. PURPOSE/JUSTIFICATION BK3000� Aloka Diagnostic Ultrasound System is a high-quality ultrasound system which is required for IR soft tissue biopsy, drainage placement, microwave/cryo ablation and fusion guided biopsy. Existing units are end-of-life and no longer maintained by the OEM. BK3000� Aloka Diagnostic Ultrasound System far surpasses conventional ultrasound performance to reach new levels of definition and clarity. Incorporating a custom multi-stage precision beam former along with massive parallel processing, this proprietary architecture captures an enormous amount of acoustic data from each transmit operation and performs digital beam reconstruction along with mathematically optimized focal processing. This creates extraordinary real-time images with exceptional frame rate, uniformity and penetration. GOVERNMENT RESPONSIBILITIES N/A� REPORTING REQUIREMENTS AND DELIVERABLES Contractor shall furnish the above specified BK3000� Aloka Diagnostic Ultrasound System including inside delivery and installation to the NIH/CC/Radiology and Imaging Sciences/Interventional Radiology department. PROGRAM MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL REQUIREMENTS N/A INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE REQUIREMENTS Receipt of the ultrasound systems as ordered to be acknowledged and verified by the user. Verification of equipment functionality will be performed by the Interventional Radiologist (or designee) upon delivery and installation. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE One (1) year warranty beginning with acceptance of the units.
