Description

Purchase of 5 Eppendorf X50 Thermocyclers BACKGROUND The National Wildlife Research Center Wildlife Genetic Project conducts DNA analysis of wildlife involved in human-wildlife conflict and wildlife disease at the wildlife-livestock interface. This work specifically involves molecular methods to detect nucleic acid signatures. The detection of these nucleic acids is accomplished through the use the polymerase chain reaction.� The X50 Eppendorf thermocycler instrument is the latest instrument produced by Eppendorf for this application. We specifically request this instrument because our institution has developed assays on the Eppendorf line of thermocycler instruments for the past 10 years.� Thus, for data compatibility between datasets, only the X50 Eppendorf thermocycler instrument is suitable for our application. We need 5 because of a roof failure and subsequent destruction of our previous Eppendorf thermocycler instruments. Without these instruments we cannot accomplish our mission critical work.
