- Q&A for Jackson Fire Alarm Inspection Q1. There is no PWS in the solicitation. can you provide PWS? A1. SOW was provided in Amendment 0001. Q2. Wat is the quantity of smoke detectors, duct detectors, pull station, heat detectors, water flow, tamper switches and FDC's? A2. Device list was provided in SOW. Q3. When fire alarm components fail during inspection how will the repair be paid? Will contractors be able to bill separately for inspection, repair labor and parts? If not, how are contractors to estimate the cost of inspection repairs that are needed? Is there some historical information that can be provided? A3. This contract is for inspection, not repair. Any failures during inspection will be put in report and addressed by the facility. Q4. when fire alarm or fire sprinkler equipment fails during routine operation will the contractor be reimbursed for the response labor & parts? If not how would the contractor be able to estimate the amount of repairs that might be necessary? A4. This contract is for inspection, not repair. Is the contractor responsible for covering the cost of replacing damaged/failed Backflow Preventers, Control Valves, Control Panels, smoke detectors and other fire protection equipment? Is the contractor responsible for performing 6yr and 12yr fire extinguisher service? How is this price to be reached unless you know sizes/types and due dates for the fire extinguishers? A6. No Q7. Are the kitchen fire suppression tanks hydrostatic tests included in the monthly pricing? If so when are they due? A8. No Q9. Is the Annual fire extinguisher inspection to be completed by the contractor or VA Staff? A0. As stated in SOW, annual inspection. Q10. Is there a fire pump? What size? What type? A10. As stated in SOW, 2 fire pumps. Size and type will not change pricing for inspection. Q11. Is the most current NFPA 25 & NFPA 72 to be followed for frequency of inspections? A11. Yes Q12. Can audio/visual and door holders be tested during normal hours? A12. Yes Q13. Can elevator recall and shunt trip be tested during normal hours? A13. Yes Q14. Will HVAC Shop ensure the AHU's come back on after the AHU Shutdown test? A14. Yes Q15. is the 5yr Sprinkler internal inspection part of the PWS? If so when was it last completed? Will there be a specific line item for billing the 5yr internal inspections? How many riser assemblies or waterflows are there to inspected? A15. No, as stated in SOW risers and flows are listed. Q16. Are there any areas that need to be tes2ted after hours? If so can you please provide those areas? A16. No Q17. Is there a current contract? Can you please provide current contract award info?
