Description
The following specifications includes to transport, dry-dock a 51� x 18� work boat, and troubleshoot a propulsion problem involving a potential bent propellor/s or shaft/s. The Contractor shall contact the Government should any portion of the vessel require alteration in order to carry out the work, even though not specifically mentioned herein. If the Government agrees, a modification to the contract will be awarded to make the required alterations. The Contractor shall take the necessary precautions to prevent delays and damages that may result from weather. This may include, but is not limited to, draining lines and constructing temporary cover. The shore power cable shall be provided with the boat. The Contractor shall provide all shore power necessary to protect the vessel�s systems. The vessel shall be dry-docked and the Contractor shall troubleshoot a vibration issue. During dry-docking the Contractor shall be responsible for properly positioning the supporting blocks so that the �vessel will not be damaged. The blocks shall be set to bear on frames or bulkheads of the hull and the vessel shall be supported with the bottom of the hull at least 42 inches above the floor of the dry-dock. The Contractor shall maintain the dry-dock throughout troubleshooting. During troubleshooting the Contractor shall inspect both engines and gearboxes and document condition. The Contractor shall diagnose problems and shall submit a condition report to the Government. The report shall include a proposal of any necessary repairs to the propulsion system. The Government will then determine if an additional modification shall be pursued based on the condition report and reasonableness of the proposal and availability of funding. Any damage or loss resulting from an action taken or not taken by the Contractor while the vessel is under the Contractor�s �care or in the Contractor�s possession shall be restored by the Contractor at his/her own expense.
