Description
Request for Information: COLUMBIA PROPULSOR PLUGS MANUFACTURING ����� This is not a Request for Proposal and award of a contract will not be made as a result of this Request for Information (RFI).� The Advanced Propulsor Management Office (APMO, Code 808) in the Naval Architecture and Engineering Department (Department 80) of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) requests assistance from industry for conducting market research to produce plugs for the CLB Class propulsor manufacturing effort. The plugs produced shall interface appropriately with the parent components of the CLB propulsor. The detailed capabilities are classified at the CONFIDENTIAL LEVEL.� Both the Geometric Dimension &Tolerance (GD&T) and performance specifications are defined in NAVSEA drawings. The contractor shall meet both specifications in order for the propulsor system to meet its performance requirements.� The purpose of this RFI is to conduct market research by soliciting industry comments and feedback. Market research will determine potential socio-economic small and large businesses interested in, and capable of, providing the support services identified herein.� This posting is issued in accordance with the requirements of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. NSWCCD intends to release a solicitation in the Fall of� 2022. NSWCCD also intends to fulfill this requirement via completion type under C-type contract with an anticipated award date of Spring 2023.� Responses should include the following: Cover letter, not to exceed one (1) page that includes: a. Organization name, CAGE Code, and address b. Point of contact name and contact information c. Size and type of organization, including if applicable U.S. small business or other status d. Brief statement of interest that indicates the organization�s interest in applying as a prime or subcontractor. 2. Interested parties shall provide a response (not to exceed 25 pages) to the following questions: a.� Describe capabilities to meeting all aspects of the draft Statement of Work including any necessary equipment. b. Addresses any barriers to satisfying the draft SOW and provide recommendations such as modifications that would be required to be able to satisfy meeting the draft SOW. c. Confirm understanding of the security requirement and the DX rating, and state willingness to comply upon award.� d. Identify bottlenecks in production (e.g. personnel or equipment) that would impact your ability to manufacture 2 or 3 shipsets simultaneously List any recommended clarifications needed to the �material formulation specification� and the �manufacturing and material process specification�, refer to SOW references. e. State whether your firm is able to meet or is unable to meet the requirements in the �material formulation specification� and the �manufacturing and material process specification�, refer to SOW references. f.
