- INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Government hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source firm fixed price contract for red blood cell reagents to Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics Inc. at 1001 US Highway 202, Raritan NJ. The reagents will be used to properly test, type, and supply blood and blood products throughout the WJB Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia South Carolina. The anticipated award will be for one base year with four, one-year option periods, effective October 1, 2022. The NAICS code for this requirement is 325413 and the small business size standard is 1,250 employees. The anticipated sole source award is in accordance with FAR13.106-1(b). A single source justification has been prepared. The facility owns and has installed the Ortho Clinical Micro Typing System Workstations and the Vision SWIFTs automated instruments, which are used to perform the blood cell tests. The instruments are proprietary to Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, Inc. The systems and reagents are FDA approved to work in unison to provide the patient test performed by the lab department. No other reagents are compatible nor approved to be performed on this equipment. The reagents include the following: 1. 0.8% AFFIRMAGEN (A1, B) 2. 0.8% SURGISCREEN (1,2,3) 3. A2 CELLS 3% 4. RESOLVE PANEL A, AB ID, SOLN,3ML,0.8% 5. RESOLVE PANEL B, AB ID, SOLN,3ML,0.8% 6. ALBAQ-CHECK (VISIONs AUTOMATED QC) This is NOT a request for quotes or proposals. However, all interested parties are encouraged to submit documentation demonstrating their capabilities to satisfy this requirement. The determination not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice. Only written responses will be considered.
