Description

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) intends to issue a solicitation for a firm fixed price service contract for the National Agricultural Library (NAL) Collection Maintenance Services. The National Agricultural Library (NAL), part of the Agricultural Research Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is one of four national libraries of the United States. The NAL collection consists of over 3 million physical items (stored in the fourteen-story Abraham Lincoln Building in Beltsville, MD) as well as extensive electronic collections.� The NAL collection is a unique and valuable resource, and the centerpiece for all the services NAL provides.� As a national library, NAL has a twofold mission regarding its collection: to provide access for current users and to preserve the collection for the use of future generations. NAL requires a contractor to provide maintenance support for the physical collection and document delivery service for NAL users.� The goal of this contract is to maintain the NAL collection in the best possible physical condition, to provide customers with quick and easy access to materials from the NAL collection, and to provide USDA employees with documents needed to support their work. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 519120 Libraries and Archives with a small business size standard of $18.5 million. The applicable PSC is R605 Support Admin-Library. The place of contract performance will be the National Agricultural Library, 10301 Baltimore Avenue, Beltsville, MD 20705. This will be a total small business set aside. The resulting contract will be a single award firm fixed price service contract with a period of performance of a 12-month base period plus four (4) additional 12-month option periods. Award will be made to the vendor who submits the quote considered most advantageous to the Government considering price, past performance, and technical evaluation factors. The vendors must conform to the Request for Quote (RFQ) instructions and be received by the closing date specified in the RFQ. A RFQ will be posted under solicitation number 1232SA22Q0035 on or after 6/17/2022 with an anticipated quote due date of 20 days after posting. The solicitation will be issued electronically. It is the vendor�s responsibility to monitor this site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any).
