Description
Introduction The following Statement of Work (SOW) defines the scope of the services that the Communications� Cabling Integrator, hereafter referred to as �Contractor�, will provide to the Federal Public� Defender, Western District of Texas in the Midland, TX office, hereafter referred to as the� �Operator�. Purpose The purpose of this project is to install communications cabling and equipment as outlined in this� SOW. Contractor will provide labor, materials, and equipment required to install a structured� cabling system with shielded twisted-pair (STP) Category 6A voice and data connections at� designated work area outlets from patch panel. �Data outlets shall be RJ45 rated for Category 6A� network cable. Voice outlets shall be RJ-11 terminations suitable for analog voice. �Work includes� all associated terminations (Ethernet 568-B, RJ-11), tie cabling, cable support systems throughout� the suite, patch panels, and cable testing to accommodate the voice and cabling project as� requested by the Operator for the new suite located at 1020 Andrews Hwy, Suite E, Midland, TX� 79701. About this Document This document is intended to ensure that the Contractor and Operator share a common and equal� understanding of the result that the Operator intends for this project. The information contained� herein will describe the project scope and specify or refer to other existing documents, which may� describe any hardware products to be included. Inclusions This Statement of Work includes the following: 1. � Scope of Work to be Performed by Contractor A. �Server Rack Enclosure B. �Patch Panels C. �Voice Cabling D. �Data Cabling E. � Cable Support System 2. � Facility Impact Considerations 3. � Warranty 4. � Documentation and Completion 5. � Site Visit 1. � Scope of Work The Contractor shall provide all materials, supplies, and labor to complete the work outlined� below. All materials and supplies utilized shall be in new condition. The Contractor shall not� re-purpose or otherwise utilize any existing data cabling, outlets, or connections without the� approval of the Operator. A. �Server Rack Enclosure a. � Contractor shall provide one (1) APC NetShelter SX (Model AR3100), Server Rack Enclosure, 42U,� Black, Standard-Depth-Height (78.5� x 23.63� x 43�) or like kind, specifications, and quality� server rack enclosure with all associated hardware. b. � Contractor must install and secure the cabinet to the floor as specified by the Operator. c. � Contractor must provide and install a busbar on the backboard and ground to the building.� Contractor must ground the new cabinet with #6 ground wire to the busbar. B. �Patch Panels a. � Contractor shall provide and install one (1) 48-port patch panel in the cabinet, as specified� by the Operator. �All data cables must be terminated and tested. �Not all ports will be populated. b. � Contractor shall provide and install one (1) 24-port patch panel in the cabinet, as specified� by the Operator. c. � Contractor will also provide one (1) 110 punch-block and mount on the backboard as specified� by the Operator; and cross connect to the 24-port patch panel for analog/digital cross connections: i. � Contractor will cross connect five (5) existing telco provided analog lines from backboard to� the 110 punch-block and bridge to the 24-port patch panel. d. � All cabling must be organized and secured. e. � Patch Panel ports must be labeled, as specified by the Operator. C. �Voice Cabling a. � Contractor will extend, secure, test, and label analog POTS lines from the telco providers� point of termination to the supplied server rack enclosure. b. � Contractor shall extend, secure, test, and label one pair to a duplex port receptacle in each� location (see Appendix A). �Total number of analog wall drops 2: i. � The Work Room as outlined by Operator on drawing (for analog use). ii. � The Receptionist space as outlined by Operator on drawing (for analog use). c. � All cabling must be organized and secured. d. � All faceplates and jacks must be the color white. D. �Data Cabling a. � All cabling must adhere to ANSI/TIA/EIA 568-B standards and industry best practices. b. � Contractor shall provide, install, secure, terminate, test, and label Category 6A STP Plenum� grade cable from patch panels to termination points throughout the suite as outlined by the� Operator. See Appendix A. Total number of data wall drops: 36 c. � All data drops will be single port, except where voice cabling is included, which shall be run� for duplex ports. d. � All drop locations have existing conduit with pull string and receptacles. e. � Contractor shall provide a ten (10) foot service loop for each cable pulled at each end of� each run. f. � �All cabling must be organized and secured in the cable support system. g. � All STP data cabling will be blue-colored. h. � All faceplates and jacks must be the color white. E. � Cable Support System a. � Contractor will purchase, provide, and install a cable management ladder from the server rack� enclosure to the backboard. b. � Contractor will purchase, provide, and install a cable tray that runs from the Server Room and� continues throughout the entire suite to support the data cables running to the offices. �Install� proper cable support system, providing supports spaced no more than 5 feet apart, and within� manufacturer�s requirements for fill ratio and load rating. c. � All cabling must have a system to support overhead delivery of voice and data connections to� the rack enclosure in the Server Room. All cabling must be organized and secured in accordance with� industry standards. Cabling should be supported by cable trays, Loop Cable Hangers, and conduit� where necessary through the suite. 2. �Facilities Impact Considerations a. � Contractor will ensure that all wiring meets national fire protection standards and codes. b. � Contractor will follow all industry standard safety rules, regulations, and guidelines. c. � Contractor is responsible for the cleanup and disposal of refuse generated in the performance� of their duties. d. � The Contractor shall repair or replace any items they may have damaged or destroyed during the� performance of this task. e. � All work, deliveries and testing will be conducted during normal business hours unless� otherwise scheduled with the Operator. 3. �Warranty The contractor warrants that all products furnished under this contract, including packaging and� markings, will be free from defects in material or workmanship and will conform with the� specifications and all other requirements of this contract. When return for correction or� replacement is required, the contractor is responsible for all costs of transportation and for risk� of loss in transit. 4. �Documentation a. � All Contactor installed equipment, cabling, and testing of said equipment shall be recorded in� final closeout documentation. �The contractor must also document the cable support system pathway� and terminations. b. � All documentation provided by the Contractor shall be generated using supported versions of� Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio, where applicable. The Contractor shall convey all� documentation via electronic transfer utilizing email, secure file transfer services, or other� means. c. � Contractor shall provide documentation showing the location of cable termination points 5. �Site Visit Prior to submission of quotation, the Contractor will conduct an on-site walk-through with staff at� the Federal Public Defender office, 1020 Andrews Hwy - Suite E, Midland, TX 79701 to provide recommendations based on the content of this document. �Site contact is Angela Kessel, (210)� 472-6700.
