- Solicitation Number: NIMH22004003SS Title: Acquisition of two sets of computer hardware to replace that of two sets of the old AutoRad (Synthia). Classification Code: 6640 Instruments & laboratory equipment NAICS Code: 334513- Instruments and Related Products Manufacturing for Measuring, Displaying, and Controlling Industrial Process Variables Description: This is a Small Business Sources Sought notice. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding: (1) the availability and capability of qualified small business sources; (2) whether they are small businesses; HUBZone small businesses; service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses; 8(a) small businesses; veteran-owned small businesses; woman-owned small businesses; or small disadvantaged businesses; and (3) their size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the proposed acquisition. Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible. An organization that is not considered a small business under the applicable NAICS code should not submit a response to this notice. This notice is issued to help determine the availability of qualified companies technically capable of meeting the Government requirement and to determine the method of acquisition. It is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Responses will not be considered as proposals or quotes. No award will be made as a result of this notice. The Government will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by the respondents to this notice. This notice is strictly for research and information purposes only. Background: The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Molecular Imaging Branch (MIB) PET Radiocpharmaceutical Science Section (PRSS) requires the acquisition of two sets of computer hardware to replace that of two sets of the old AutoRad (Synthia). Purpose and Objectives: The objective of this acquisition is to obtain two sets of computer hardware for the AutoRad in hot cell 4 and hot cell 6. The existing computer hardware became obsolete and will not be supported by the manufacturer. PRSS is forced to buy the new computer and interfaces in order to continuously suport and use the AutoRad for production of PET radiopharmaceuticals for animal studies. Project requirements: The existing unsupported hardware will be replaced by the currently supported computer hardware in the following table: Item Obsolete/unsupported computer hardware Currently supported computer hardware (Please see Attachment for detail) PXI systems are composed of three main hardware components: chassis, controller, and peripheral modules. The four (4) PXI interfaces, NI PXI-6224, NI PXI-8433/4, NI PXI-2569, NI PXI-6515 must be purchased because the none of the old PXI interfaces in the old system have the right connector to the backplane of the new chassis, PXIe-1088. The newly purchased PXI modules, although they are still called PXI, have the hybrid connectors that enable them to be used in the new chassis, i.e. PXIe-1088. If the manufacturer had made them all backward compatible, we would have been able to save money by re-using the old interfaces. However, the manufacture changed the backplane connectors in a way that old interfaces could not fit into the new chassis. Therefore, the customer is forced to change out all the interface modules and one can question whether there is a good business ethics in this case. Purchase Description: Two (2) PXIe-1088 9-Slot 3U PXI Express Chassis or equal in accordance with FAR 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal (AUG 1999) Two (2) PXI-2569 PXI Relay Module, SPST (open), 100- Channel, 100 V, 1 A or equal in accordance with FAR 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal (AUG 1999) Two (2) NI PXIe-8430/8, 8 Port, RS232 Serial Interface for PXI Express or equal in accordance with FAR 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal (AUG 1999) Two (2) Standard Service Program for Hardware or equal in accordance with FAR 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal (AUG 1999) Two (2) PXI-8433/4, 2000V Isolated RS422/485, 4 Port Serial Interface or equal in accordance with FAR 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal (AUG 1999) Two (2) NI PXI-6515 Industrial 32 DI, 32 Sink DO Bank Isol.
