- This is sources sought announcement only. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified businesses with special interest in seeking: VA certified Service-Disabled Veteran owned Business (SDVOSB); Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) and Small Business for small business concerns. No solicitation is being issued at this time. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. Your responses will be due by Tuesday, July 05, 2022 3:00PM (EST) to the point of contact listed below. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 6, and the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center anticipate a delivery for several Hospital Beds. This is a VHA Directive requirement for the facility to obtain equipment. Equipment: Essential physical characteristics for Durham VA bed requirements: o Bed weight limit of patients up to 500 pounds o Equipped with an In-bed scale o The bed should be capable of descending a minimum 12-15 from the floor for safe/ease of egress o Bed sensing system that identifies object beneath frame and prevents crush injury from floor surface/and bed deck upon descent o The Bed retracted length should not exceed 91 inches o The Bed should have touch screen controls on both sides, to offer control and access for caregivers/intuitive, non-complex control systems o Bed frame must be open architecture o The Bed/Mattress/support surface should have mechanism/technology that addresses weight-based pressure redistribution, shear, friction, patient migration with clinical indications up to and including stage 4 pressure injuries. Preferred option: Able to incorporate low air loss to provides moisture vapor/heat transfer with microclimate surface o The Bed must have quick release CPR function o The Bed must meet national safety standards regarding interface of both patient and caregiver, with FDA side rail and entrapment issues. Reference: FDA/Hospital Bed System Dimensional and Assessment Guidance to Reduce Entrapment. o Safety: Access with portable Hoyer lift/Evacu-Sled devices o The Bed to tolerate hospital grade cleaning disinfectants o The bed should have Motorized-drive with Variable Speed control mechanisms with steering controls o Brakes: Head/foot brake system o Preferred: Bed deck with non-solid sheeting o Preferred: Under bed lighting o Services or Performance required: 1 yr vendor maintenance coverage o Requesting trade-in allowance Place of Delivery: Durham VAMC 508 Fulton Street Durham, NC 27705 The appropriate NAICS Code 339113 and the small business size standard are 750 interested firms are reminded that in accordance with FAR 4.12, prospective contractors shall complete electronic annual representations and certifications in conjunction with FAR 4.11 required registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to award of a contract.
