- Description of Work: The Forest Service is seeking the services of installing Government furnished click-lock laminate flooring at the Lee Vining Ranger Station, located on the Inyo National Forest in California. The project shall involve the full removal of the existing flooring at the Ranger Station and replace it with Government furnished click-lock laminate flooring. Office Layout: The Ranger Station is a two-story building with office spaces on both floors, with office spaces ranging from approximately 50 ft2 to approximately 440 ft2. Flooring shall be removed from office spaces on both floors, including hallways, restrooms, and stairways. A total of approximately 4400 ft2 of existing flooring shall be removed by the Contractor and replaced with click-lock laminate flooring. Office layout drawings/sketches shall be provided to the Contractor by the Forest Service. All office layout measurement shall be field verified by the Contractor, and it is the Contractor�s responsibility to ensure accuracy of the office space square footage prior to submitting a quote. The Ranger Station has a mixture of carpet, marmoleum and vinyl tile flooring, with most of the building�s rooms/spaces containing carpet. The conference room and kitchenette area contain marmoleum flooring, while the restrooms contain vinyl tile flooring. Work associated with this contract includes, but not limited to, the following: Removal of the existing flooring at the Ranger Station and disposal of all waste from the project site in accordance with existing local, state, and federal regulations. Measuring, repairing, patching and preparation of the floors to the extent necessary to receive the new click-lock laminate flooring. Installation of Government furnished underlayment, as described in the Technical Requirements. Installation of the Government furnished click-lock laminate flooring, as described in the Technical Requirements. Installation of the Government furnished baseboard molding, stair nose molding, flooring molding/trim and transition strips where the new flooring joins other flooring finishes. Includes the installation of Government furnished t-molding pieces. The Contractor is responsible for removing all office furniture such as desks, storage cabinets, tables, chairs, etc., from the selected office spaces. Forest Service staff are responsible for the removal of all their office contents such as boxes, project files, books, computer equipment/accessories etc. Prior to vacating their respective office spaces. Any office furnishings moved by the Contractor shall be returned to their original location, and the Contractor is liable for any damage caused by the negligence of their employees during the movement of the furnishings. Upon completion of the work, the Contractor shall promptly notify the Contracting Officer�s Representative (COR) for final inspection and acceptance of the work. Project Expectations: The Contractor shall submit a project timeline no later than two (2) weeks after the contract award. The Contractor shall give a three (3) week minimum notice prior to performing work at the Ranger Station. The Ranger Station will be operational during the contract period; therefore, the Contractor shall be mindful of the office occupants while working around the office building. The Contractor shall plan the flooring removal & installation work in phases, to allow the office occupants to move their office contents to different locations within the office building for storage as the work progresses. The Contractor shall get the office spaces to a �ready state� once the installation work is completed. Contractor Responsibility: The Contractor shall provide everything--including, but not limited to, all equipment, supplies, transportation, labor, and supervision-- necessary to complete the project, except for that which the contract clearly states is to be furnished by the Government. The Contractor is responsible for the proper storage and disposal of all project waste and debris from the project site. The Contractor is responsible for the work performed until completion and acceptance of the entire work. C.2 Project Location & Description Location: The project is located on the Inyo National Forest at the Lee Vining Ranger Station, in Lee Vining CA. The nearest substantial community to the project site, is the Town of Mammoth Lakes, CA. Description: The Ranger Station is located in Lee Vining, CA and is approximately 142 miles south of Reno, Nevada. From Reno head south along US-395 S, for approximately 140 miles to Lee Vining. From Lee Vining, head south along US-395 S, for approximately 0.7 miles and turn left onto CA-120 W. Stay on CA-120 W for approximately 1.3 miles, the Ranger Station is on the left-hand side. Exclusions (Non-Work Areas): All other areas that are not directly adjacent to the project area are considered non-work areas and should not be impacted by the Contractor in any way. Accessibility: The location is accessible by passenger vehicle or truck and is located on a paved road.
