- Update July 5, 2022: The purpose of this update is to announce a site visit on August 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. local time. Interested vendors should contact Jose Gutierrez at jose.gutierrez4@usda.gov to register their company. Due to the site visit, the due date for the proposal will be extended to August 25, 2022. An official SF-30 amendment acknowledging these changes will be forthcoming shortly. The U.S. Forest Service is soliciting offers for a single award, Firm-Fixed Price contract type with an estimated magnitude for the base and options between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The Government anticipates awarding a sole contract for the replacement of a bridge at South Cottonwood Creek in San Isabel National Forest in Buena Vista, CO. �Additional awards, at Forest Service discretion, may be considered depending on Forest Service need and results for proposal evaluations.� Prospective offerors are required to submit proposals in accordance with the solicitation. Scope of Work: The work shall consist of what is shown on the plans, stated in the specifications, and summarized below: Coordinate with the Upper Arkansas Water Conservancy District and the Cottonwood Lake Summer Group Homes to relocate their facilities as required. Construct the bypass. Close the road and relocate the existing bridge superstructure to the bypass. Install traffic control signing as required and move traffic to bypass. Remove the remainder of the existing bridge. Remove trees and clear and grub as required. Excavate for footings. Construct the footings. Construct the abutments and wingwalls. Backfill the abutments to just below the beam seat elevation. Grade portions of the channel banks under the new bridge. Install riprap adjacent to the new structure. Erect the steel girders. Construct the concrete deck and end diaphragms. Construct the utility conduits. Construct the remaining backfill and approach embankments. Install the bridge rails. Install the approach rails. Open the road new road and bridge to traffic. Obliterate the bypass and dispose of the bypass bridge. Complete the riprap installation along the stream. Prepare the finished grading and apply seeding. This opportunity is set aside for total small businesses. Location(s): The bridge carries NFSR 344 over South Cottonwood Creek adjacent to the outlet from Cottonwood Lake. The bridge is located approximately 9.5 miles southwest of Buena Vista, Colorado in the San Isabel National Forest.
