- This solicitation notice is to inform potential offerors that the Buffalo, NY VA Medical Center posted a solicitation (36C24222B0049) on June 6, 2022,to provide urgent repairs to the air handling units (AHU) 1 and 2 in the E-Wing and the AHU that serves the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). All work to be perform at the Buffalo, NY VA Medical Center. General scope of work includes: Repair of Air Handling Units for Emergency Department and ICU To perform urgent repairs to Air Handling Units (AHU) 1 and 2 in E Wing and the AHU that serves the SICU. The air handling systems for E wing were designed and installed around 1977. These two units need urgent repairs in order to continue to serve in a reliable manner. The Buffalo VAMC has purchased the exhaust fan but has no safe way to remove and replace the exhaust fan for AHU 1. AHU 2 needs the pre heat coils replaced and there are also significant amounts of degradation to the drain pans, sound attenuators, piping, and filter racks. Both units have been without humidification for quite some time. The SICU s AHU fan wall is original and in need of replacement. WNYVAMC has procured the fan wall and it needs to be installed. shut off before the control valve. VA will run the control wire and program the valve. It has been determined that there are enough qualified Service-Disabled Veteran Own Small Business (SDVOSB) firms that are capable of performing under NAICS Code 238220, ""Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning Contractors"", with a size standard of $16.5M. Therefore, this procurement is 100% set-aside for a SDVOSB. The magnitude of the project is between $100,000 and $250,000. There was a prebid site visit 6/21/222. RFIs were due 6/29/2022 by 12 noon and there were no RFIs submitted. Bid bonding will be required to respond to this IFB. IFB are due July 6, 2022 by 11AM at which time there will be a BID Opening Teams meeting. OBTAINING SOLICITATION MATERIAL Solicitation materials consisting of the information for bid details, specifications, drawings, and contract forms will be available on http://www.beta.sam.gov in electronic format only. These should be available on or about June 6, 2022. SOLICITATION AMENDMENTS: Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at http://www.beta.sam.gov. Paper copies of the amendments will NOT be individually mailed. No other notification of amendments will be provided. Bidders are reminded that they are responsible for obtaining and acknowledging all amendments to this solicitation by the time of bid opening. Once the solicitation is released, bids will be accepted electronically only, due to ongoing safety concerns regarding the COVID -19 pandemic.
