Description
This is not�a request for proposal or quote, and in no way obligates the Government to make any award.� Market research performed to date for fulfillment of the government requirement detailed below has not yielded a high number of potential products or vendors.� The purpose of this sources sought notice is to give preliminary notice of our requirement to the market place in attempt to get a better understanding of the market, to broaden industry participation and to increase competition.�� This is�not�a small business set-aside, however the results of this posting will be utilized to determine whether any further opportunity announcements for this requirement should be set aside or not.� �A general description of the requirement is below.� Any interested part that believes thay can fulfill this requirement should submit a capability statement to be reviewed at this time. Official offers are not�requested at this time, however all submissions will be considered as part of the market research.� The Engineer Research and Development Center - Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (ERDC-CERL) has a requirement to purchase a small pontoon boat capable of carrying an open channel ultra-violet (UV) reactor beneath its platform in the space between its pontoons for mobile Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) remediation efforts.� The UV reactor is not part of this procurement, only the boat, but the boat must be of certain dimensions for compatability with the HAB remediation program.� Most standard size pontoon boats are outside of compliance with the required dimensions. The�Laker 712 RT Pontoon Boat package is the only one found so far that meets the specific characteristics, and we are considering advertising as Laker Brand Name or Equal (BNOE).� The most important characteristics to be met, which are primarily related to dimensions and carrying capacity, are as follows: Between 13-15ft in length and 6.5-8ft in width. At least 30� spacing between pontoons beneath the deck. Weight of less than 800lbs. Load carrying capacity for persons, motor, and gear of at least 1600lbs. Controllable by a bow-mounted trolling motor and shall come with a remote-controlled bow-mounted trolling motor with 55lbs thrust. Vendors capable of supplying this particular equipment, or any other equipment that could fulfill the requirement if it was advertised on a BNOE basis, is encouraged to submit a capability statement with detail of their business organization (SAM.gov registration status, etc.) and detail of the product(s) believed to be compatible to help in completing our market research.� Capability statements shall be submitted no later than the date and time specified above to: CERL-CT-Quotes@usace.army.mil.� Telephone responses will not be accepted.��
