Description
he project includes the provision of emergency ladders and life buoy stations along the Naval Station waterfront and at select piers; minor timber fender systems modifications to allow the install the ladders; pavement demolition, excavation of fill material behind the existing bulkhead, backfilling, compaction, and asphalt patch repairs for concrete ladder pads; concrete demolition and concrete construction at the ladder landing pier locations; and incidental related. In addition, the contractor will demolish existing steel pipe stanchions and existing chain railings that are used as fall protection throughout Piers 2, 6, 7, & 11. At same locations as existing stanchions, provide all stainless steel pipe stanchions, chains, base plates, and anchors at Naval Station Norfolk, Norfolk, VA. This acquisition will be procured using the policies and procedures of FAR 16.5, Indefinite-Delivery Contracts. Market research was completed and documented prior to award of this basic 8(a) MACC. For this task order, it is understood that there may be other SB concerns in the marketplace, but it is in the Government�s best interest to utilize this contract vehicle, which was put in-place to reduce administrative effort, cost, and Procurement Administrative Lead Time (PALT). Based on mission needs, it was determined by the Contracting Officer in order to better meet operational mission for the Navy that this 8a MACC would be utilized. A total of five (5) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contracts were awarded to the following qualified firms with relevant experience in performing efforts of similar value, size and scope:� Crofton Construction Services., Doyon Project Services LLC., Ocean Construction Services, Seaward Marine Corporation, and W.F. Magann Corporation. N40085-18-D-1156 through N40085-18-D-1160. Further, the proposed task order is within the scope and capacity of the existing MACC.
