The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) is seeking additional sources for terminal junctions in accordance with SAE AS81714/7 Terminal Junction System, Terminal Junction Blocks, Sectional Bussing Modules, Feed-thru Type, Size 20, Series 1 for listing on Qualified Products List (QPL) SAE AS81714. SAE AS81714/7 is available from www.sae.org (for purchase) or www.ihs.com (with subscription). QPL-AS81714 is viewable at https://qpldocs.dla.gov. SAE AS81714/7 Terminal Junction System, Terminal Junction Blocks, Sectional, Bussing Modules, Feed-thru Type, Size 20, Series I, covers Terminal Junction System (TJS) components which are used for interconnection of wiring. These environment resistant components have in common the use of crimp type external Size 20 pin contacts in accordance with SAE AS39029/1-101. The terminal junctions must be compatible with the requisite SAE AS81969 tools for contact removal and insertion. This family of terminal junctions is designed to operate continuously over a temperature range of -65 to 200 C, using any combination of temperatures generated by the electrical load and ambient temperature so that the maximum internal hot spot, combined temperature, will not exceed the maximum specified for the class of TJS component. The housing shall be black hard dielectric with a blue elastomeric grommet to provide wire sealing on each end. The terminal junction is designed for installation in SAE AS81714/10 and SAE AS81714/14 racks with its indexing indicator adjacent to the indexing rack rail. It can also be installed in SAE AS81714/29 brackets. These terminal junctions are intended for use in any application where their performance characteristics are approved. They are suitable for installation on aerospace electrical systems in accordance with SAE AS50881 within the limitations of applicable performance requirements. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. With respect to products requiring qualification, awards will be made only for products that are, at the time of award of contract, qualified for inclusion in QPL-AS81714 whether or not such products have actually been so listed by that date. Contractors should be aware of requirements specified in SAE AS81714. Manufacturers should arrange to have the products that they propose to offer to the Federal Government tested for qualification in order that they may be eligible to be awarded contracts or orders for the products covered by SAE AS81714/7.Guidance for manufacturers and their authorized distributors who wish to submit products for NAWCAD qualification is available in Provisions Governing Qualification (SD-6).The SD-6 is available in ASSIST, https://quicksearch.dla.mil/(enter SD-6 in the Document ID search box). Additional information and questions pertaining to qualification of products to SAE AS81714/7 may be obtained fromrose.a.webster6.civ@us.navy.mil.
