Description
THE DALLES LOCK AND DAM STRAINER PIPING MATERIALS U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS, PORTLAND DISTRICT ISSUED: July 7, 2022 RESPONSES DUE: July 14, 2022 at 10:00 AM PDT THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary, and the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The proposed NAICS code for this procurement is 221310, WATER SUPPLY AND IRRIGATION SYSTEMS The size standard: $27.5M Federal Service Code: 4510 - PLUMBING FIXTURES AND ACCESSORIES Location of project: The Dalles Lock and Dam, The Dalles, OR The Dalles Lock and Dam uses river water to cool its Main Unit Generator units. River water is routed from the scroll case and plumbed through a strainer that extracts particulates as the water moves through. The clean cool water then moves on to the generator for thermal transfer cooling of both surface air coolers and immersed oil tub coolers. The Dalles Dam has been annually changing out the original as built manual strainers and upgrading them to a modern automated self-cleaning design. The new strainers have a wider fitment then the original as built because of the Automatic motors that rotate the strainer screens. To accommodate that increased width, installation of these new strainers requires the plumbing to be reconfigured from the original as constructed arrangement. Each install of the new modern strainer requires replumbing of all connecting plumbing of not one but two joining generator unit strainer systems, because the configuration of the cooling water strainer system allows for cross tying of two generation units. The scope of this procurement is to supply the plumbing materials necessary to fabricate and complete four more strainer modernizations. NO AWARD WILL MADE FROM THIS INITIAL NOTICE. THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION FOR BIDS OR REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS.
