Description
********** SYNOPSIS POSTING ********** SYNOPSIS POSTING ********** Sole Source: Eaton Hydraulics LLC (CAGE Code: 45X75) The Controller Assembly electronic component is the fan speed controller which controls the speed of the cooling fan. The controller simultaneously communicates over the CAN bus to the ECM, and other components such as AFES to control the Fan Speed Control Valve. In case of an engine compartment fire, the FSCB will receive a signal from the AFES and cause the control valve to slow the fan down to prevent pulling the fire retardant out of the engine compartment. The next higher assembly is the Power Unit Instl (Part Number 12594033), and the end item is the AMPV FoV. The Government currently does not have a Technical Data Package (TDP) to purchase this part from other than the current source(s). Only Eaton Hydraulics LLC (CAGE Code: 45X75) has the requisite technical and engineering expertise to perform all efforts required to provide the supplies and services identified for this item. A substitue item can't be used without prior approval by TACOM. This part requires engineering source approval by the design control activity in order to maintain the quality of the part. Existing unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing knowledge by the qualified source(s) require acquisition of the part from the approved source(s). The approved source(s) retain data rights, manufacturing knowledge, or technical data that are not economically available to the Government, and the data or knowledge is essential to maintaining the quality of the part. An alternate source must qualify in accordance with the design control activity's procedures, as approved bythe cognizant Government engineering activity. The qualification procedures must be approved by the Government engineering activity having jurisdiction over the part in the intended application. PLEASE NOTE: - This notice is not an open solicitation i.e., Invitation for Bid (IFB) or Request for Proposal (RFP). - Technical data is not available for this item. - Qualification testing and evaluation is required to become an approved source. - Source approval does not guarantee business. - Qualifying as an approved source only provides the opportunity to compete on future solicitations.
