Description
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Ocean Service (NOS), National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS), Hollings Marine Laboratory, has a requirement for a brand name or equal to Thermo Scientific Dionex ASE 350 accelerated solvent extractor and 2 extraction cell sets (i.e. one 24-place ASE 350, 12 66 mL stainless steel extraction cells and 30 34 mL stainless steel extraction cells). The extraction system must be able to effectively extract complex environmental samples (including soils and sediments, animal and plant tissue, petroleum products) up to 20 g in mass. Equipment must meet the following salieant characteristics. See RFQ for further details. Automated Extraction System: Brand name or equal to Dionex ASE 350 Shall include an extraction system capable of using a wide variety of organic solvents, including, but not limited to, dichloromethane, acetone, hexane, methanol, acetonitrile. Shall reach temperatures up to 200C Shall reach pressures up to 1500 psi Shall be able to extract at least 20 grams of sample material Shall allow for programmable and customizable extraction methods Shall contain extraction and collection trays that allow for differing volumes Shall contain probe rinsing capability to prevent cross contamination of samples Shall allow for multiple extractions to be performed on the same sample Shall allow for the ability to mix multiple solvents during the extraction method Contain measures to prevent overfilling of collection vials The unit must meet power requirements: Voltage 120V Extraction Cells: Brand name or equal to Dionex ASE 350 Extraction cells Requirements must include an appropriate turntable or rack for extraction cells with automatic homing Shall include at least 12 positions on the turntable Shall allow for extraction cells of different volumes (up to 100 mL) Shall have the capability to perform filtration and cleanup steps during the extraction process Shall be able to withstand temperatures up to 200C and pressures of 1500 psi Shall be able to be used with organic solvents including, but not limited to, dichloromethane, acetone, hexane, methanol, acetonitrile. Shall allow for cell purging with nitrogen Shall contain sealed cells with controlled pressure release to minimize cross contamination Shall be able to handle samples masses up to 20 g 3. Additional Requirements The Contractor shall provide the installation of the unit. The Contractor shall provide on-site training describing operation and routine maintenance during the installation visit. The Contractor shall provide at least a 1-year warranty which shall begin upon final acceptance of installed equipment.
