- Request for Information (RFI) 416950 Alternate Radiation Source and Security This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) NOTICE open to all companies that meet all of the requirements of the SOW, Attachment (A). �This RFI is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government, nor will the U.S. Government pay for information solicited. �The information from this notice will help the Department of Energy (DOE) survey available resources. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL, NO SOLICITATION EXISTS AT THIS TIME. Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC (herein known as �BSA�), operator of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) under a Prime Contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) herewith requests your capabilities statement as it pertains to meeting the requirements provided in Attachment (A), Statement of Work for Alternate Radiation Source and Security. The purpose of this RFI is to query the market for potential interested, capable, responsible, and qualified offerors that can meet the requirements provided in Attachment (A), Statement of Work. Interested offerors are requested and encouraged to submit responses. Please ensure your capabilities statement, responses to the questions below, company�s DUNS and/or SAM UEI number, and company�s size status are included in your response. Questions 1. Does your company have knowledge of radioactive source categorization and rationale for current categorization? 2. Does your company have knowledge and understanding of US and international publications and activities on categorization of radioactive source? 3. Does your company have knowledge of BNL accelerator complex and its ability to facilitate the transition from the use of high-risk sources? 4. Does your company have knowledge of industrial users of radioactive source and their challenges transitioning to non-radioactive sources? 5. Does your company have experience providing regulatory oversight of radioactive sources for a US City or State? 6. Does your company have experience facilitating multiple stakeholder negotiation to achieve elimination of high-risk radioactive source?� 7. Does your company have experience designing and implementing both domestic and international radioactive source categorization schemes? 8. Does your company have experience surveying and analyzing the costs and opportunities of the process of transitioning away from high-risk radioactive sources? Submittals must be received by BSA no later than 4:30 PM ET on July 15, 2022. Any information received after this time and date may not be considered.�� Responses to this RFI must include the information noted above and shall be submitted electronically to mnichols@bnl.gov referencing �BSA RFI 416950� in the Subject Line. � The information contained herein is sufficient to permit your company to prepare a submittal outlining your capabilities; however, should you have any questions, please email Maile Nichols at mnichols@bnl.gov.
