- Description: Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) Procurement Group, Patuxent River, MD, hereby gives notice of intent to award a purchase order to Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence dba Hexagon Metrology, Inc., (Cage Code: 1WUK4),�250 Circuit Drive North Kingstown, RI, 02852, on a sole source basis in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The purchase order is anticipated to include a base year plus four (4) option years of performance. The requirement is for the calibration and re-certification of two Hexagon arms and scanners for the Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE), Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida 32212-0016. The contractor shall inspect, certify, and provide a 12-month maintenance agreement for two Hexagon arms and scanners. Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, Inc. (Hexagon) owns the patent and copyrights to the software used to calibrate and certify the arm systems and is a certified provider approved by the Navy METCAL lab. Hexagon arms and scanners are used to measure and reverse engineer parts for aircrafts. The scanners are also used to verify dimensions of Critical Safety Items (CSIs) and first production run (FPR). The calibration and recertification of the scanners is an innovation technology part/service that is available only from Hexagon. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within three (3) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be reviewed. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
