- SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE XA30 Upgrade The Department of Veterans Affairs Chillicothe Medical Center (Chilli VAMC), 17273 OH-104, Chillicothe, OH 45601 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1)(i) - Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. The NAICS code is 334614 with a small business size standard of 1,250. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc., 40 Liberty Blvd., Malvern, PA 19355-1418 for XA30 Upgrade. The unique characteristic for the XA30 Upgrade are: Purchase of the Siemens Magnetom Aera NumX Upgrade for is necessary to continue the standard of care in our Chillicothe Radiology department. This purchase is necessary due to the current software not being Windows 10 compliant which is a VA directive requirement. This upgrade is part of the current Siemens proprietary system for MRI. This upgrade will ensure Windows 10 compliance, increase the efficiency of all MRI exams, contains advanced cybersecurity technology, provide high-end reconstruction, and enable safe remote access for Siemens to help provide less down time. All of these upgrades will increase access, productivity and reduce downtime. This Siemens upgrade is exclusive to Shared Medical. This upgrade will be fitted to our current Siemens Magnetom 1.5T Aera. Our technologists will receive 24 hours of onsite training for this upgrade. This is a critical piece of equipment that we need in order to provide the best care for our Veterans. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Thursday, July 19, 2022, at 5PM EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
