- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the Government to award a contract. Responses to this source sought notice must be in writing. The purpose of this sources sought announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential businesses interested and capable of providing the services described below. The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 22 is seeking a contractor to provide a Vertical Carousel System for the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System. The prospective contractor must be able to provide the Kardex Megamat 350 RS Vertical Carousel (MEG RS 350.1.2850.6.343.9 4) system or Equal meeting the following salient characteristics: Vertical Carousel must be of Ergonomic Design. Vertical Carousel must be manually operatable (by hand) without any backup energy sources in case of emergencies. All Vertical Carousels must be a Clip System panel concept for fast assembly/disassembly and maintenance purposes allowing for high operator security in the event that stored goods fall inside the unit. All Vertical Carousels shall come with a lifetime motor warranty to ensure years of reliable usage. All other components shall have at least a 3 year warranty, including transportation, parts, and labor. Vertical Carousels shall come equipped with an Emergency Power Crank for access to parts in case of power failure. Vertical Carousels shall come equipped with a multifunctional profile allowing flexible fitment and positioning of the operator panel, lighting, and accessories above the access opening. Vertical Carousels shall come equipped with a stainless-steel table surface at a standing position. Vertical Carousel shall have an imbalance indicator on the operator station display that will alert the operator to any imbalanced load. Vertical Carousels shall come equipped with a lockable lightweight one-piece sliding door. Self-counterbalanced sliding doors can be opened and closed with minimal effort. Two-piece sliding doors without counterbalance are not acceptable. Vertical Carousels shall come equipped with a finger protection safety buffer at the rear of the posting board. Vertical Carousels must come with transport rollers for fast and easy repositioning in the case of internal moves, providing maximum flexibility for unit positioning with minimum downtime and reinstallation costs. Vertical Carousels must have standard manual override systems allowing the unit to be used until the service technician s repair. Vertical Carousels must have a standard manual override that can be operated with the door open, so parts can be located using drive and view without knowing what carrier the part is stored on. The manufacturer must be certified in ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 4. DETAILED VENDOR REQUIREMENTS: Factory-trained and authorized qualified individuals must perform the installation and service. Contractor must include Preventive Maintenance Services every six months for the duration of the 5-year warranty period in the contract price for the equipment. 5. OVERALL EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATION: Overall Unit Height: 7 ft 11.9 in Max Minimum Room Height for Installation: 8 ft 1.9 in Overall Unit Width: 136.8 in. Max Overall Unit Depth: 78.4 in. (Includes 12.6 in. (320 mm) Work Counter) Max Cubic Storage per Unit: 166.5 ft³ Minimum Storage Area per Unit: 282.4 ft² Minimum Power Supply: 3/PE 208V (50/60 Hz) LED Access Opening Light Door Type: Manually operatable when there s no power Carriers per Unit: (9) Multipurpose Carrier Two Units equipped with intermediate shelfs providing 5.53 and 5.57 clear height Spacing (Pitch): 13.5 in. Carrier Clear Height: 11.54 in Max Carrier Clear Width: 112.2 in Max Carrier Clear Depth: 24.7 in max Carrier Capacity (max): 772 lbs. The Government is not obligated to, nor will it pay for or reimburse any costs associated with responding to this sources-sought announcement. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. The VA is mandated by Public Law 109-461 to consider a total set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. However, if there are insufficient Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business responses, an alternate set-aside or full and open competition may be determined. No sub-contracting opportunity is anticipated. The North American Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 339112 (1,000 Employees). Responses to this notice shall be submitted via email to sam.choo@va.gov. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses must be received no later than Wednesday, 7/20/2022 10:00 AM PT. After review of the responses to this sources-sought announcement, a solicitation may be published on the beta.sam.gov or GSA eBuy websites. Responses to this-sources sought announcement will not be considered adequate responses to the solicitation. All interested offerors must respond to the solicitation in addition to responding to this-sources sought announcement. Prospective bidders must be authorized re-sellers in order to participate in the solicitation process. Notice to potential offerors: All offerors who provide goods or services to the United States Federal Government must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov.
