Description
Provide all labor, material, and equipment necessary to dry-dock and repair�M/V Robert McKelvey Workboat according to the following specifications. The work in this work order will�include dry-docking an 18� x 50� pusher boat. (1) The vessel shall be dry-docked at the site where repairs are to be made prior to commencement of the repair work herein specified. The Contractor shall be responsible for transporting the workboat to and from their dry-dock facility and properly positioning the supporting blocks so that the vessel will not be damaged. The blocks shall be set to bear on frames or bulkheads of the hull and the vessel shall be supported with the bottom of the hull at least 42 inches above the floor of the drydock. The Contractor shall maintain his dry-dock and/or other places where work under this work order is being performed, clean and free of expended blasting abrasives, scrap metal, water, scrap lumber, and other debris. All air hoses, water hoses, and electrical extension cables on or about the vessel shall be arranged in a neat, orderly and workman like fashion. (2) Inspect entire vessel and provide the Government with a list of necessary changes required to meet all current Coast Guard Standards. (3) Remove and replace the port side and starboard side doors. Material to be stainless steel. Doors shall be lockable type equal to the existing doors. All four (4) exterior door locks shall be replaced. Contractor to submit catalog literature to the Government to approve prior to purchasing and installing. Doors shall have a finish (coating) to match the existing boat colors. Color shall be submitted for Government approval. (4) Replace eight (8) interior port light panel toggle switches in the pilot house cabin. Types to be equal to existing ones. (5) Furnish and install eight (8) navigational lights to LED type lights. Contractor to submit catalog literature for Government approval prior to purchasing and installing. (6) Replace the engine room port side and starboard side access door gaskets. (7) Replace any life-saving devices which are deficient. Comply with all Coast Guard standards. (8) Inspect main engines and generator and provide report for Government review. Replace the fuel oil piping and valves in the engine room for the main engine and generator. The piping system shall be coated with a rust-proof, heat-resistant coating system suitable for use on such machinery. The color shall match the original piping color. Color shall be submitted for Government approval. (9) Repair starboard side main engine exhaust wrapping. Contractor shall remove damaged areas of the wrapping and install new wrapping, binding it into the existing components of the exhaust system. (10) Inspect and replace components of the steering system. This includes pipes, valves, hoses, fittings, O-rings, gaskets, or other component of the hydraulic system. The piping system shall be coated with a rust-proof, heat-resistant coating system suitable for use on such machinery. The color shall match the original piping color. Color shall be submitted for Government approval. (11) Replace three vessel bilge electric pumps. New pumps shall be equal to the existing pumps. Contractor to submit manufacturer�s literature to the Government for approval prior to purchasing and installing. (12) Inspect internal void compartments and document condition. The Contractor shall provide a detailed inspection report to the Government including location and photographs of any notable breach in interior paint coating, structural damage, or excessive corrosion. The inspection report must be submitted within ten (10) days after the boat arrival at the Contractor�s facility. The report shall include a proposal of any repairs the Contractor deems necessary for the protection of the structural integrity of the boat. The Government shall determine if a contract modification is necessary. The Contractor shall not commence any work described in their proposal unless a contract modification is issued by the Government. The Contractor is highly encouraged to make site visits to inspect the workboat. Site visits shall be arranged by contacting the Government Representative. Components which are found to be deficient shall be replaced by equals. The Contractor shall submit for approval the specifications of any component to prove equivalency with the existing component. The work described herein must be accomplished by the Contractor within 5 months from the date of contract award.
