Description
The Government anticipates awarding a Firm-Fixed-Price contract to construct the Folsom Spillway Gates and Embankment Modifications, Folsom, CA. The Request for Proposal will be posted no earlier than 23 Aug 2022. The estimated due date for proposals will be on or about 23 Sep 2022. Once issued, the RFP will identify a firm due date/time for receipt of proposals. In accordance with the DFAR 236.204, the magnitude disclosure of this construction project is between $100,000,000 and $250,000,000. This proposed contract action will be conducted using NAICS code 237990, with a size standard of $39,500,000.00 and the Federal Supply Code (FSC) is Y1KA, Construction of Dams. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Folsom Dam Raise Project is a Flood Risk Management project at Folsom Lake, California which will provide system-wide flood damage reduction benefits when combined with the common features efforts within the Sacramento Valley. The key project features include: Main Dam Spillway work on all eight Tainter gates includes: structural retrofits to the trunnion anchorage system, structural reinforcing to strengthen gates, �top seal� structural headwalls installed above each gate, concrete pier extensions, new elevated hoist platforms, new cable hoist system with new electrical controls. Left and Right Wing Dams work includes: construction of a reinforced L-shaped concrete floodwall (3.5-feet height) above existing ground level, embankment work, relocation of utility and security features, and a removable stoplog system approximately 20 feet wide will be framed and installed through the concrete flood wall near the tie-in location between the Main Dam and the Left Wing Dam. There will also be a Drought Mitigation Piping Task option item which consists of: Temporary drought mitigation pipeline (water supply) may be mobilized during May through August by facility owner. Within the construction zone the pipeline system is comprised of five 18-inch diameter HDPE pipes running parallel and on top of the Left Wing Dam crest road, with a 90-degree bend to direct the pipeline system to an alignment perpendicular to the crest road and down the downstream slope of the embankment.� �Contractor must design a means for fully loaded construction vehicles to cross this drought pipeline system for continued access during construction.
