- Description
- Work shall consist of but is not limited to the following: Task 1: Replace and reroute a portion of the existing copper refrigerant line sets on two existing 30 Ton Liebert Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) Units. Each Liebert Unit has two R-22 refrigerant circuits each having approximately 120 pounds of refrigerant. Due to operational requirements of the server farm, only one circuit of one Liebert Unit can be down at a time. R-22 Freon can be recycled for #1 and #3 CRAC units if the acid content is acceptable, otherwise new Freon shall be used. CRAC-2 will be completely replaced with a new unit. Completely replace the refrigerant lines for the new CRAC-2 and charge the system. Each of the 6 existing line sets is comprised of one 1 inch line and one 1 inch line (see drawings for new and existing routing). Replacement lines will use ACR copper piping and will be insulated with Rubatex insulation. Provide insulation blocks at pipe supports and aluminum jacket around exterior piping to protect insulation. There will be combination isolation/shraeder valves installed at the condenser end of the new portion of the line sets as well as isolation/shraeder valves installed on the linesets just outside the indoor unit (Evaporator) approximately 4 feet above the finished floor. The result will be two isolation/shraeder valves on each line. Include installation of replaceable filter dryer assemblies. Linesets will exit the building through the concrete precast wall at approximately 12 feet high. Lines will be supported by pipe stands or hangers keeping at least a 12 foot clearance above the ground until they reach the condensing units. Note: The contractor will ensure cooling to the server farm is maintainted during the performance of this work by only having one circuit of each CRAC unit down at a time. Air conditioning must be sufficient to keep the server farm continuously at 73 degrees +/- 2 degrees. Task 2: Replace CRAC-2 in its intirety. The new unit will consist of an interior 30 Ton Precision Cooling System CRAC Unit with a new 30 Ton DX Air-Cooled Microchannel Condensing Unit. The new units will be installed in the same locations as the old interior/exterior systems. Due to the criticality of the server farm, it is critical the demolition of the existing CRAC only occur immediately prior to the installation of the new unit. Install combination isolation/shraeder valves at the condenser end of the line sets as well as just outside the indoor unit (Evaporator) approximately 4 feet above the finished floor.
