- The United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) is conducting market research to effectively identify capabilities of new and existing companies available in the marketplace for meeting the requirement of Container Repair Services, Bremerhaven, Germany for the Department of Defense (DOD). The information being requested will be used within the USTRANSCOM Acquisition office to facilitate decision making and will not be disclosed outside the agency. �This is a Request for Information (RFI) only and does not constitute a request for a proposal/quote nor obligates the Government to make purchase of any supplies or services now or in the future. �The information sought and provided will be used for planning purposes only. In addition, if submitting proprietary data, please mark accordingly. All proprietary data will be handled IAW Government regulations.� Please be advised that all submissions become property of the Government and will not be returned. I. BACKGROUND INFORMATION USTRANSCOM is seeking information to determine the availability and technical capability of the business community to support the DOD container repair services requirement. The contractor shall provide all services, materials, supervision, personnel, labor, and equipment, except as specified under ""Government furnished"", to perform work and contracted repairs of various DOD containers. The Contractor shall provide all parts, materials, personnel, and equipment to accomplish work and repairs to containers. �II. INFORMATION REQUESTED Company Information 1.�� Company Name & Address: 2.�� POC Name/Telephone/Email: 3.�� North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code� 4.� �Is the work associated with this contract considered �commercial� as defined at Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 2.101(services of a type offered and sold competitively in substantial quantities in the commercial marketplace based on established catalog or market prices for specific tasks performed or specific outcomes to be achieved and under standard commercial terms and conditions)?� Please provide your rationale. 5.�� How are contracts, for these type services, typically priced (i.e. firm fixed price, reimbursable, location, etc.)? 6. � What is your preferred lead time between contract award and performance start?� �What contract transition activities do you anticipate and how long of a transition period is required? Core Competency. �Please note that experience refers to complexity as well as longevity. 1. How many years has your company been in the container repair business? International: Domestic: 2.� Explain your experience with Department of Defense (DOD) Container Repair Services and explain your capabilities, in detail, with DOD Container Repairs and specifications, to include Welding Certification. 3. �Explain your understanding of the Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR) Parts VI as it relates to DOD Intermodal containers.� 4.� What is your understanding of Military publications specific to DOD Container Repair Inspections?� Name the publications. 5.�� Provide inputs on whether container repair services facility location to the distance from Weserportstrasse 5 Bremerhaven, Germany has specific relevance to container transport? 6.� Provide information on your capability of receiving and delivering empty containers. 7.�� Explain your capability for handling containers from/to land transport, particularly receipt and delivery (i.e. the capacity of your facility to house containers).� III. RESPONSE REVIEW Please mark and separate any limited release information with your response to this Request for Information. Response to this RFI or lack thereof does not constitute any obligation on the Government to pursue a follow-on effort, in part or whole, with specific vendors or otherwise. IV.
