- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Becton, Dickson, & Company for Cell Sorter-FACSAria Fusion. The Cell Sorter-FACSAria Fusion refrigerator is a flow cytometer and sorter used for particle analysis and accurate isolation and sorting of microbiological samples (including pathogens) used in method validation, sensitivity studies, etc. The system is configured for use inside a matching BSC for aseptic applications (cell culture) and handling of pathogenic microorganisms. The purchase of the above mentioned FACS is necessary because it 1) requires no user optical alignment, laser alignment or laser focus reducing instrument set-up time and operator interaction in the biosafety cabinet; 2) includes 355nm,488 nm and 640nm lasers; 3) has the ability to threshold on multiple parameters simultaneously to detect small particles or samples with large amounts of debris; 4) has a proven instrument set-up and QC program; and 5) can utilize 6 solid state diode lasers in various wavelengths and outputs lasers and up to 18 colors plus forward and side scatter. The proposed vendor, Becton, Dickinson & Company (BD) has the level of quality instrumentation for this highly specialized need that other vendors are unable to provide. . This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to William Brannen at VWL0@cdc.gov by August 2, 2022.
