Description
The Department of Interior, National Park Service, Hot Springs National Park, Hot Springs, Arkansas, is conducting market research to find interested sources who can perform the following work: Provide all labor, qualified supervision, products, equipment, materials, tools, supplies, incidentals, and other services and expertise necessary to: 1. Tuckpoint all joints on the sand-colored exterior brick, including the inside parapet walls. The Buckstaff has approx. 8600 square feet of sand-colored brick on each story and sides of the Buckstaff bathhouse. See Division 4 for procedure for removing mortar and tuckpointing procedures. Contractor to remove, clean, and re-attach building canopies. 2. Low pressure washing and cleaning of all exterior surfaces before tuck pointing and painting (see #7 in this section 3. below). This area is approx. 14,000 square feet (this area includes the entire building i.e. sand-colored brick, red brick, stucco areas. Note red brick has been tuckpointed on a previous project). Note that the windows of the building are not weather-tight or sealed, so care must be taken when executing low pressure washing not to allow water and/or debris to enter the building. 4. Replace the Terrazzo front porch surface and necessary base surface of the Buckstaff bathhouse. Removal of terrazzo front porch down to a point of stable substructure in depth at a minimal to install the new terrazzo tile is approx. 175 cubic ft. Install new substructure material of approx. 100 cu. ft and install new terrazzo tile approx. 580 sq. ft. Finish floor of porch will be at approx. the same grade as existing to provide a slope for drainage of rainwater away from the building. New terrazzo will match the existing tile in size, shape, optical design. Contractor to submit a 6��x 6�� sample of each color and design to NPS for approval by CO/COR before installation is to commence. 5. Remove and replace the exterior sidewalks, steps and ramp. Exterior steps are concrete except for the front steps on either side of the ramp which are granite/limestone steps (quantity of 10, 12�� depth, 6�� height, 44�� width). Sidewalks and ramp will be a minimum of a 4�� in thickness. Repair and paint the entrance ramp walls and basement step walls after new ramp and steps are in place. The removal of existing and replacement of new concrete sidewalks, steps and ramp. Approx. 2400 square feet-. Match existing design, grade, and replace existing drain grates with new. 6. Patch and seal cracks in cap stone/cap stone joints (all caps� stones to remain in place), stucco/plaster walls, wood surfaces and finishes (especially windowsills and trims), and masonry joints. Remove old and apply new sealant around all the Counter flashing approximately 500 linear feet. Patch/replace approximately 2000 linear feet of glazing on the Windows 7. Repair approx, 2,000 square feet of exterior stucco, including all decorative and detailed structures and repaint to match existing colors. All stucco repairs are to match existing surface and/or structure to include texture and color. 8. Repaint all existing painted exterior surfaces, including doors and windows (exterior side only.) Painting will require the use of scaffold in places and/or the use of an aerial lift to reach certain areas of the building. See Division 09 9. Repair, prep, and painting of exterior plaster/stucco including the front pillars of the building, The NAICS code for this project is 238140, Masonry Contractors, with a Small Business Size Standard of $16.5M. The project magnitude is estimated to be between $500,000 and 1,000,000. The period of performance of the project will be 120 calendar days from receipt of a Notice to Proceed. Interested contractors having capabilities and experience necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to provide company information in the format of a narrative that demonstrates company experience/capabilities to Martin Hauch, Contracting Officer: martin_hauch@nps.gov.
