Description
Exterior Window Washing & Resealing - JAHVH Questions and Answers for RFQ# 36C24822Q1347 Can you confirm the quote is due on Monday, July 18th, submitted to your email address? Answer: Yes, per the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation, all quotes are to be submitted via email (along with the Attachment -2 LoS Certification and Attachment 3 - New Vendor Form) to Jose.Ortiz-Velez@va.gov by Monday July 18, 2022, @ 12PM EST. Can you confirm materials to be used for waterproofing? Dow Corning 795 Silicone: glass-to-metal (glazing) transitions and metal-to-metal transitions (glazing) Dow Corning 790 Silicone: metal frame-to-substrate transitions (window perimeter) Answer: Both, depending on application. Can you confirm on Building 1, old caulk previously installed at windowpane, butt joint, and weep holes is to be removed but not replaced, so windows can be opened from the inside and weep system restored? Answer: Yes. Can you confirm if chlorine or bleach-based solutions (anti-microbial, applied with regulated concentration) are approved for use in cleaning the Structures, Landscape, and Walkways? Answer: Upon award, the Contractor shall provide the COR a copy of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all materials used in the performance of this contract and Facilities Management Service (FMS) will determined if the cleaning solutions being used will be acceptable. Can you confirm if Roof Anchors on Building 1 highest areas are installed and certified for accessing building envelope, in areas NOT ACCESSIBLE with aerial lifts (estimated 30% inaccessible with lifts, Anchors also used for safety tie-back when cleaning roof surfaces)? Answer: Talked with Safety. The Roof Anchors have never been tested in at least the past 10 years and some Anchors are not accessible because of new AC duct installed. Can you confirm if waterproofing Scope of Work for Building 41 should include applying a butter-grade elastomeric compound to cracks in Dryvit that span from the window frame (and may continue leaking after windows are re-sealed)? Answer: Yes, need cracks sealed. Can you confirm the Scope of Work excludes masonry repair, painting, and sealing structures, landscape, and walkways? Answer: Yes, need repairs done at same time. Can you clarify Scope of Work noted on the Performance Work Statement (PWS): 4.6: Exterior Cleaning. Process of making sure exterior of a building is clear of cobwebs, dirt, grime, stains, and pollutants. Can you confirm owner understands that some non-organic stains and weathering on the building will be permanent? 4.7: Landscape. Boulders, statues, outdoor dedications, and memorials shall be included in cleaning services. Can you confirm only Buildings 1 and 41 Landscape is to be cleaned? 4.13: Structures. Includes entire building envelope for all buildings, all exterior building aesthetics (i.e., Bldg. 1), overhangs, roofs of structures with no walls, enclosed (screened) outdoor patios, atriums, covered-walkways, gazebos, parking garages (exterior), loading dock areas, water towers, surrounding walls/perimeter walls & columns, entryways, ambulance parking area(s). All shall be included in cleaning services. Can you confirm only Buildings 1 and 41 are Structures to be cleaned, including roofs and adjacent parking garages? 4.15: Walkways. Any area designated for foot traffic includes but not limited to sidewalks, crosswalks, & walking paths. Typically, made from concrete, asphalt, pavers, or tile. Can you confirm only Buildings 1 and 41 are Walkways to be cleaned, and walkway cleaning excludes all other buildings? Answer: 4.6, 4.7, 4.13, 4.15 are in the Definitions area of the PWS. The Scope of work is what we want done, not the definitions. Re-read the Scope. *** This is a courtesy reminder that ALL vendors who wish to participate for this requirement MUST complete/sign/submit the Limitation of Subcontracting (LoS) Certification Form (Attachment 2) along with your quote and New Vendor Form (Attachment 3). Failure to provide the completed/signed LoS Certification Form, will result as an incomplete package and deemed unacceptable.***
