Description
Notice of Intent to Sole Source Chromium X & Accessory Kit The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price purchase order to 10X Genomics Inc. In accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, the Contractor is the only known responsible source who can provide the instrument and kit with the features listed below. The purpose of this notice is to inform the public that the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Eye Institute (NEI) anticipates issuing a purchase order to acquire 10X Genomics Inc. Chromium X instrument and Chromium Next GEM Single Cell 3 Kit. Chromium X is the only brand that allows profiling gene expression in fixed samples across hundreds to hundreds of thousands of single cells or nuclei. Cells or nuclei suspensions are fixed and permeabilized and can be mixed with barcoded human or mouse whole transcriptome probe panels. Each pair of barcoded probes can then hybridize to its gene target in the fixed cells. Samples can be processed individually or multiplexed in a single channel where they are partitioned into GEMs, inside which barcoded probes are ligated and tagged with an additional unique barcode in the Chromium X series instruments. 10X Genomics provides a unique platform for Multiome ATAC (Assay for Transposase Accessible Chromatin) and gene expression solution. The platform can deliver a scalable microfluidic platform for detecting chromatin landscape and 3 gene expression from the same cell simultaneously, for up to 80,000 cells in parallel. Chromatin profiling enables the laboratory to see how chromatin compaction and DNA-binding proteins regulate gene expression at high resolution. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. However, any party that can provide the instrument and kit that meet the requirements as stated herein, may submit written specifications that clearly demonstrate its products specifications, capabilities, and features. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed award based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that an award will be issued approximately five (5) days afterthe date of this notice unless the Government determines that another organizationhas the capability to meet this requirement. Please email responses to zetherine.gore@nih.hhs.gov no later than 12:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.
