- Description
- Background The Minarets (MWC) Stewardship IRSC shall be awarded under the following authority.� Stewardship Authority: Section 604 (16 USC 6591c) of Public Law 108-148 as amended by Section 8205 of Public Law 113-79, the Agricultural Act of 2014�Grants the U.S. Forest Service (Government) permanent authority to enter into stewardship contracts or agreements to achieve land management goals for the National Forests or public lands that meet local and rural community needs. Section 8205 supersedes the temporary authority granted to the Forest Service (Government) in section 347 of Public Law 105-277, the Omnibus Consolidated and Emergency Appropriations Act, 1999. All Contractors must be actively registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) https://www.sam.gov/SAM/ to be eligible for award under this solicitation.� Registration in SAM is a free service and you do not need to pay to register in this system. NAICS 115310: Support Services for Forestry, size standard: $20.5M Fuels Management Services. Stewardship authorities permit the Government to solicit this requirement as Full and Open competition. Location The project is located on the Bass Lake RD, approximately 40 miles north off of Forest Service road 4S81 and approximately one mile north of the junction of road 6S22. Legal land description is T6S R21E., Section: 16 MDB&M. Description The purpose of the MWC Stewardship project is to abate and remove (from Forest Service land) designated Dead and Dying trees over 8.0 inches DBH and greater (diameter at breast height) from within the MWC. Treatment requirements included: felling, skidding, and removal of Included Product meeting minimum specifications, and all associated road work, erosion work, slash & landing clean up. The estimated timber volume and species composition for Saw Log Product is as follows:� Ponderosa Pine 112 Mbf Sugar Pine 11Mbf White Fir 3Mbf Incense Cedar 48 Mbf A site visit is scheduled for August 30, 2022 to view the project area and discuss the objectives of this contract. Meet at 9:00 a.m. pacific standard time at the Bass Lake Ranger District, 57003 Road 225, North Fork, CA� 93643. � The solicitation will be posted on or about August 18, 2022 and should be downloaded from this website at that time.� Quotes will be due on or around September 16, 2022.� The period of performance is estimated to be from date of award through December 15, 2022.� Point of contact is, Jeanne Windle, Contracting Officer, with the National Stewardship Contracting Branch at norma.windle@usda.gov.� Questions must be submitted in writing and emailed to norma.windle@usda.gov.�
