- Description
- NNRL of NEI requires the purchase of a multi-mode microplate reader to replace our current system. Plate readers are essential equipment for any cell biology, genetics, or biochemistry laboratory in order to measure concentrations of molecules and analyze cell function. Our current plate reader has reached its end of life and repair costs have become prohibitive. Plate readers are essential equipment for any biological laboratory. They are commonly employed to estimate concentrations of molecules, quantify cell viability, and assess cell function. A multi-modal plate reader will allow a large variety of cell or chemical assays employing different modalities. Molecular Devices produce premiere plate readers with high sensitivity and reliability. They are considered an industry standard. We currently have an older model from Molecular Devices which will allow us to easily add a similar device into our workflow.
