Description
SCOPE OF CONTRACT Description of Work: The intent of this contract is to select a contractor who will provide pest control services at the Meyers Landfill located in South Lake Tahoe, CA. The contractor shall use a green approach not to harm wildlife or household pets to address the burrowing rodent issue at Meyers Landfill. Examples of a green approach may include pumping CO2 into burrows to asphyxiate the rodents, or the trapping and removal of rodents. No chemical shall be used. The treatment area of the landfill cap is 11 acres in size. Contractor Responsibility: The Contractor shall provide everything--including, but not limited to, all equipment, supplies, transportation, labor, and supervision--necessary to complete the project. Project Location & Description Location: Meyers Landfill is located in South Lake Tahoe, CA, along Garbage Dump Road. Turn left onto Pioneer Trail from Highway 50 near the CA/NV state line, turn left onto Garbage Dump Road directly across from Elks Club Road. This is an administrative use road, and the contractor will need to be let in through the locked gate for access to the site. Description: Meyers Landfill has an impermeable cap over the buried waste, with a native surface over that cap. In the 10 years since its installation, burrowing animals have cause surface damage to the earthen cover. In order to prevent further damage, and possible compromising of the impermeable cap, a pest control contractor is needed to deal with the burrowing animals. To set up a site visit, please contact Theresa Cody at 530-545-2057 or email at theresa.cody@usda.gov.
