- Sources Sought For C5 Engine Accessories (Request for Interested Manufacturers) LOCATION:� Robins AFB, GA 31098-1813 SUBJECT:� Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for purchase requirement of various C-5M engine accessories.� ITEM DESCRIPTION:� The nineteen C5M Engine Accessories are as follows: 1560-01-600-9158UC, P/N: 255-2101-501 � Inlet Cowl, Inlet section of CF6-80C2 Engine. Guides air into turbofan engine. 4320-01-525-8855UC, P/N: 4H99002-101A � Engine Hydraulic Pump, Uses Engine power from accessory section to drive pump. Creates hydraulic pressure for aircraft systems to operate. 1560-01-618-7969UC, P/N: D52B1000-23 � Cowl Assy., Translating, Cowling that makes up the structure of both RH and LH Thrust Reverser Assembly. 1560-01-531-0842UC, P/N: 3114M98G01 � Door Assy., Blowout, Door panel used to access lower section of Thrust Reverser. Also used as pressure relief door in the case of a blown pneumatic line within engine compartment 1560-01-561-0165UC, P/N: 491B1213030-329 � Latch Assy., Forward, LH, Forward latch that secures Left Thrust Reverser to the closed position. 1560-01-561-0170UC, P/N: 491B1213030-330 - Latch Assy., Forward, RH, Forward latch that secures Right Thrust Reverser to the closed position 1560-01-592-5910UC, P/N: 224-2302-547 � Cowl Assy., Engine Core, RH, Cowling panel that encloses the right half of the engine core section 1560-01-592-8163UC, P/N: 255-2280-501 - Cowl Assy., Engine Fan, LH, Cowling that encloses the Left side fan section of the CF6-80C2 Engine. 1560-01-595-5844UC, P/N: 224-2301-523 - Cowl Assy., Engine Core, LH, Cowling panel that encloses the left half of the engine core section 1560-01-596-6401UC, P/N: 255-2281-501 - Cowl Assy., Engine Fan, RH, Cowling panel that encloses Right side fan section of CF6-80C2 Engine. 1560-01-611-6419UC, P/N: 4P39001-130A � RH Thrust Reverser, F138 P1, on the ground, the thrust reverser system slows the airplane, reducing the distance required to safely stop during landing. In the air, the thrust reversers on the inboard engines can be deployed to aid in rapid descent. �1680-01-531-0837UC, P/N: 1806M46P05 � Lock, Actuation, Thrust Reverser, Locks T/R half by preventing the flexible shaft from turning until commanded to release by Center Drive Unit (CDU). 1680-01-631-3646UC, P/N: 491F1200301-031 � Drive Unit, Center LH, CDU powers the translating cowl via gearboxes, flexible shafts and three ball screw actuators. 1680-01-631-3650UC, P/N: 491F1200301-033 - Drive Unit, Center RH, CDU powers the translating cowl via gearboxes, flexible shafts and three ball screw actuators. 2840-01-567-5707UC, P/N: 491F1200302-005 � Actuator, End, Gearbox Lower, Each thrust reverser half is provided with two angle gearboxes and ballscrew actuators. Each is driven by the CDU through a flexible drive shaft to move the translating cowl. 4810-01-561-3018UC, P/N: 9191M34P02 - Actuator, Power Door Opener, Use to open and close Thrust Reverser Assy to aid in maintenance of engine and related components. 4820-01-554-6411UC, P/N: 9274M54P17 � Valve, Directional Pilot and Pressure Switch, It is a solenoid operated valve that changes an EEC electrical signal into a pneumatic air signal to control the direction of the Central Drive Unit (CDU) (deploy or stow). 6695-01-554-1937UC, P/N: 491F1200310-003 � Sensor, Position, Transcowl, The sensor continuously monitors the position of the translating cowl and transmits the position to both EEC channels. Impediment to Competition: �The original equipment manufacturer for this item is General Electric (CAGE 062W0), which maintains its configuration by part number. The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. As a result, General Electric is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the above C5M Engine Accessories performance requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment.� INTEREST:� The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to General Electric for the manufacture of the nineteen C5M Engine Accessories in support of the C5M Program.� Other interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 15 days from the date of release of SSS date by emailing Donna Pallini at donna.pallini@us.af.mil and/or Vernell Ward at vernell.ward@us.af.mil. �The Government intends to procure these items using Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
